One of the things that I have been very pleasantly surprised about, is the quality of this year's big blockbusters. There have been so many of them, four of which actually found their ways unto this list. Let's hope next year won't be any different!
Another pleasant surprise, is that for a second year in a row, this list includes a Danish film... and not just one, actually. There's two! (One is an English language one, though.)
It is of course not possible to see every film you want to see in a year, and there still are a lot of films from 2013 I have yet to see, some of which haven't even premiered in Denmark yet - and those includes movies, that could have very possibly ended up on this list, had I actually got to see them. They are (in alphabetical order): '12 Years a Slave', 'A Hijacking / Kapringen', 'Ain't Them Bodies Saints', 'American Hustle', 'Blackfish', 'Blue is the Warmest Colour', 'Captain Phillips', 'C.O.G.', 'Dallas Buyers Club', 'Enough Said', 'Frances Ha', 'Frozen', 'Fruitvale Station', 'Her', 'Inside Llewin Davis', 'Kill Your Darlings', 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom', 'Nebraska', 'Out of the Furnace', 'Pacific Rim', 'Philomena', 'Prisoners', 'Rush', 'Saving Mr. Banks', 'Side Effects', 'Stoker', 'Stories We Tell', 'The Spectacular Now', 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and 'The World's End' ... and most likely a whole lot more.
So without further ado, let me give to you my top 10 picks for the best films of 2013.
