What a surprise!
As i consider myself a die hard race car fan. And a frequent movie goer. And yet i did 2 things wrong before sitting for RUSH. I didn't know about the rivalry between JAMES HUNT and NIKI LAUDA in the '70s. And second thing is i didn't know its a Ron Howard movie. So i started watching the movie with an open mind. Thought, lets see what The Thor has in store for me. But boy i was wrong, so wrong. This is not some Chris Hemsworth show. The character played by Daniel Bruhl was incredible, and stronger than Chris Hemworth's one in some extent. From the get go this movie will suck you into the world of this two mad rivals. I thought, "okay this is a movie about formula 1, but in the end the hero will come out as a winner." Again... how wrong i was! Both characters are so strong and so well acted by Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl that you will be confused, which guy to root for. They have their own reasons for their battles. Its story of the rivals from their point of views. I assure you that, you will love this rivalry and there growth in the process with your heart in you hand. Hunt is a playboy and a hot headed driver, on the other hand Lauda is calculative and great in setting up car. This is really battle between Heart v Brain. Though they are arch enemies but they have a certain respect for each other. When James Hunt beats down a reporter for humiliating Niki Lauda, that will give you chill. And for those who love Olivia Wilde, GOOD NEWS! She looks hot in this movie too. And Ron Howard did a great job, he is a great director and he proved it once again. Music are sublime and the color effect he used is amazing. I will give RUSH a 9. Go watch it, its worth the money and time.
A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)
Is this the end of the road for John McClane?
In the summer of 2007 everyone around me was disappointed by the Die Hard 4.0 but guess what, i was sold due to the iron man Bruce Willis and a strong negative performance from Timothy Olyphant. And adding some cool modern day stuff into this epic movie really did make me excited.
But this one is BAD. Really i couldn't wait till the end. Before 20 minutes of ending, i got up and sat on the computer to find out, "Is it really that bad or i was not in a mood for a movie." Sadly no, i was in a mood. Its horrible. John Moore has successfully destroyed the series. In the past movies we have seen some extra ordinary actions and those got us thinking, " Yeah, may be somebody can do that kind of thing!" But this one delivers us with so trash of actions which you wont believe in your nightmare. First Jack and John McClane rescues Komarov. With this much destruction even a die hard DIE HARD fan would feel ashamed and would say, "Take a break now, would you?" Then comes the jump scene of the duo. They jumps from over a 10 storied building without even knowing whats underneath and they finds themselves on the construction safety THINGY. I won't spoil much, but again with a jump sequence, the last scene where they jump from another building and finds themselves into the pool! WOW! One question can come to mind, is there no law and order in Russia? In this havoc, where were they? Or the SUPER MOORE thought thats unnecessary? And i really don't want to say anything about the villain. Cause there was none in this one. And lastly... what in the god's green earth they did to McClane! He is not even the shadow of the old McClane and the heart breaking news is... truth is he seemed like a sidekick this time. I really am having DIE HARD time to give this movie a 4. And trust me i am heart broken.
Death Racers (2008)
Am i alright???
The first thing i wanna know is... can i give any film a "0"? I am finding it hard to give this one even a 1 rating point. I wanna get hanged at this point, probably the worst 90 or so minutes of my life. I have seen bad movies in past but never imagined something to be this much painful. What i wanna say about those clowns and the "Vaginamyte" is... leave us alone, please... i beg you. My suggestion would me, "Save yourself and do the world a favor by not going within a mile of a DVD store which contains a copy of DEATH RACERS". I understand that its a B class movie, but even then there are some standard over there too, the director, editor, script writer and most of all those actors should realize this straight reality.
