Take a listen to a song by Enya that feels has that very close feel of Tolkien. I know Enya did "May It Be" for FELLOWSHIP, even Peter Jackson himself once said that Enya's music closely resemble the themes of Tolkien.

Anyway, this is a theme from the movie, FAR AND AWAY. Take a listen:

The story follows a [lost] ten-year relationship between two college buddies, Derek and Myles. They both shared mutual attraction for each other since they first met in college. However, they kept their feelings secret lest fear of social acceptance but most of all rejection from either of them.

Upon graduation they both went their separate ways in pursuit of their professional careers. Subsequently, they lost contact with each other through the years.

But as they've gotten successful in their respective careers their loneliness got the better of them.

It is somehow their lingering yearning for each other that drives them to reconcile their friendship and ultimately to confess their love. Subsequently, pursuing their happiness in a binding marriage against the odds.

The story also explores the ever-present social stigma and prejudice of the gay community and the recent US ruling on same-sex marriage. The Derek-Jason relationship plays a backdrop to the whole issue.

It's more than 30 years later when the sons of Suki, Alex and Jane had all grown up and had their own families. But something within them got somehow aroused by a certain ghost of the past. Something that they neither had the powers to control nor to understand fully.

It was indeed the inheritance of the legacy of their notorious (supposedly, late) father that woke up in their consciousness. But their respective mothers whom they tried so hard in erasing the memory of Daryl Van Horne proved to be no match for the potent powers of Daryl's devilry.

As such, that consciousness that woke within them took a mould of their own respective personalities and developed into something greater:
- a lady's man (aka "the charmer playboy")
- an ambitious conniving, scheming and power-hungry man (a "Trump-like" schemer)
- timid yet secretly wild man

And so, the story could either go as a serious drama or comedic outtake as a continuation of the original film.

Should the story take a dramatic turn, I'd see it as something in lights of 2006 Renny Harlin's THE COVENANT minus the testosterone-driven cheesiness but a darker even more terrifying turn OR it could be like the comedic 1992 Robert Zemeckis' DEATN BECOMES HER or simply continues the comedic aspect of the original film.

Anyway, here are my ideas for the possible (with the original returning) cast:

A English remake of 1981 Malaysian film, ABANG ("The Brother").

A drama about a family forced to reconcile with the sudden return of the eldest son after he mysteriously disappeared for 10 years.

As each of the family members struggles with their own personal demons with his return, the eldest son himself has a dark secret of his own that could utterly ruin their very lives. But in truth his secret would ultimately explain his mysterious disappearance, probably even earn him the forgiveness and redemption that he so much desires.

Based on the bestselling novel and written by the author of "The Boy In Striped Pyjamas", John Boyne.

It is September 1919: twenty-one-year-old Tristan Sadler takes a train from London to Norwich to deliver a package of letters to the sister of Will Bancroft, the man he fought alongside during the Great War.

But the letters are not the real reason for Tristan's visit. He can no longer keep a secret and has finally found the courage to unburden himself of it. As Tristan recounts the horrific details of what to him became a senseless war, he also speaks of his friendship with Will--from their first meeting on the training grounds at Aldershot to their farewell in the trenches of northern France. The intensity of their bond brought Tristan happiness and self-discovery as well as confusion and unbearable pain.

The Absolutist is a masterful tale of passion, jealousy, heroism, and betrayal set in one of the most gruesome trenches of France during World War I. This novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats until its most extraordinary and unexpected conclusion, and will stay with them long after they've turned the last page.
