Instinct to Kill (2001)
Well done adaptation of a good novel!!
Instinct to kill is based on the novel"The Perfect Husband" by Lisa Gardner. The only problem I had was the premise that Tim Abell could actually take on Mark Dacsacos in a hand to hand fight. No way!! Otherwise a very good movie!!
Mike Hammer: Cold Target (1984)
This story is much like the novels!!
Mike captures a killer and is targeted by other hitmen. One of the best scenes in the episode is where he is getting information from a source, who is a reformed bad guy named Kenny"THe Knife". Mike says he wants to nail the killers. Kenny who has found God says "Vengance is mine. That's always been one of my favorites". It also was a slick move by the writers because Vegance is Mine is one of Mickey Spillanes original novels.. A great story with lots of action and a surprise ending, just like the Spillane books.
Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror (1942)
The best of the war themed Rathbone/ Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies!!
Holmes and Watson search for a Nazi agent in London. A thrilling entry. At the end Rathbone, as Holmes utters the final lines written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in his Sherlock Holmes short story His Last Bow. "There's an east wind coming Watson"."Good Old Watson! You are the one fixed point in a changing age. There's an east wind coming all the same, such a wind as never blew on England yet. It will be cold and bitter, Watson, and a good many of us may wither before it's blast. But it's God's own wind none the less, and a cleaner, better, stronger land will lie in the sunshine when the storm has cleared." Doyle wrote that after the start of WWI!! The movie lines were uttered in 1942. Quite appropriate. Great movie!!
The Mod Squad: A Double for Danger (1971)
Tearjerker!!
This episode showcased Peggy Lipton's wonderful acting skills. She played Julie and Miki flawlessly. The last scene with Pete, and Linc still makes me tear up. The love the 4 members of the Squad, and that included Captain Greer, for each other set it apart from any other show of it's kind. The guest stars were top notch in this episode. Ray Walston as the head gangster, and Michael Ansara as a New York detective were excellent.
The Mod Squad: Who Are the Keepers, Who Are the Inmates? (1970)
Linc in an asylum.
This episode was a showcase for the talent of Clarence Williams lll. He showed his skills at expressing a variety of emotions. The only mistake in the episode was a technical goof. Inmates in a mental hospital have all their valuables locked away. So how did Linc's friend end up with change in his pocket to call Linc on the phone? Otherwise a great episode.
MacGyver: Strictly Business (1991)
Murdoc is back!!
MacGyver and Murdoc have their most exciting one on one battle Murdoc was the only opponent who was MacGyver's equal.
