I admit that I am as prejudiced as one could be, so take my 10/10 with a grain of salt. I love Ireland, I love Dublin, I love U2 and I like David Letterman. So watching this film, seeing places I know and love with U2 talking about their music and others talking about U2 it was unavoidable that I watch this, unavoidable that a few tears came to my eyes and unavoidable that I like this film. If you do not know Ireland but are a U2 fan you should enjoy this film as well, but you will not understand a few of the connections. And, if you have never experienced real pub life and music in Ireland, I beg you to do so as soon as possible. Then watch this film. It's not just about U2. Sláinte.

Any Scotch Drinkers out there?
20 March 2023
The scotch tube which Curtis Swint placed on the commissioner's desk sounded empty. The tin bottom of the tube resonates with a higher pitch, which it would not have done had there been a bottle in the tube, in which case there would have been a thud.😉 I suggested this as a goof, which was declined because they couldn't/wouldn't verify it. Perhaps their salaries don't allow for the purchase of much scotch, but it was a subtle goof that not many would catch. Of course, the scotch brand was a fake, as is almost always the case in TV and movies unless they're getting payed for product placement. As to the show: Due to police violence in this series in general I can't give it more than a 6.

Not bad for an American cop show. Some stories are pretty good, although all too often too many family members are involved in the same plot. Considering the size of New York it's not likely they would even see each other very often, let alone work the same cases. It would be much more dramatic if different story lines for different family members ran parallel and were overarching the episodes. As is the case with many such shows, police violence seems to be ok if it's used against the bad guys or unlikable characters. I like the family dinner in each episode. Tom Selleck does overact a bit. Just try drinking every time he sighs. You won't make it through some shows.

Do the producers hate people with misophonia?
25 November 2021
I would give the show 8 or 9 stars, but after binging 12 seasons I must ask myself the above question. Many themes are presented which affect less than a few percent of he population, but those of us with misophonia (15 to 20%) are constantly being bombarded with characters eating chips and apples or eating with their mouth full. C'mon, Hollywood and Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Mark Gordon. This really bites (pun intended).

Lots of critics under 35 here, I think. Or old dogs, like myself, waiting for Season 4 of TOS, unlike myself. Was this episode a 10? No. Was it a 1? No. And I can't take anybody seriously who would say that. I had my problems with the season and the episode. Like, is Discovery like the Tardis, much bigger on the inside? Would be cool! Take it for what it is and enjoy it.
