The Worst Movie I have ever seen.
Ray Comfort the infamous Christian evangelist has made a film about homosexuality. Excuse me if I go into this with a little biased opinion here because Ray has said many negative thing about gays in the past. So is this a loving film? Before I go into the film lets look at some history here. In 1979 Ray wrote a book about cancer. It also praised child beating. It looks like it was written by a deranged mental patient. It tells people not to get help for people who have cancer. More recently Ray has became more infamous for starting his religious organization Living Waters. He did a very unpopular vid in which case he proves God by fondling a banana witch got him the name Banana Man. He does these street interview with random people trying to spread his religious views. Apparently a Youtube video came out and showed that he edits his videos to make himself look good. Oddly enough he preaches against lying. Very recently Ray has showed his support for Josh Duggar after he sexually molested at least 5 little girls. Swell man. So how will a film written by this guy hold up?
The film starts with an aspiring comedian named Peter. He talks to his friend named Diana. She finds out that Peter is a Christian and becomes concerned of his anti gay views. Peter then delivers to a building. In it he finds two young lesbians who are about to get a marriage license. Peter wants to give him some literature to promote his religion. I have no idea what he is suspecting of the? To stop being lesbians? The elevator starts to act up. Peter gets off it but he is told to not let anyone on. Yet the two lesbians get on and they die a horrid death. So whats the message here. Because Peter didn't give them a pamphlet judging them of their life they will go to hell. How will this effect Peter the rest of the film. It does not because its all a dream. Yes the dream cliché. Was the whole film so far a dream or just the last two scenes? That's just awful writing.
Peter looks how to evangelize to Christians. He goes to Living Waters. com and wait...hold on here. This is when you realize that this is not really a movie but a ad for Living Waters/Ray Comfort. The poster says he is in the film but he only appears in these clips. What a total rip off! These clips are just Ray pushing his religion and anti gay stuff. Its a chore to sit though. He uses the same "its a choice" argument. Its just Ray being the awful person that he is and making other people as awful as he is.
Later Peter is in a gas station (or liquor store as they say) when a guy holds up the place. Peter saves the day and is invited by a gay couple to diner as a thank you for saving them. At the restaurant Peter becomes a total jerk and gives them his religious stuff. They mention that shellfish is called an abomination in the Bible. That is true but I guess Peter is cherry picking. One of the gay men listens and one leaves and is very offended. Rightfully so. Peter was awful here. Hes a hero one minute and a jerk the next.
Apparently Diana does not have a gay sister but does have a brother dying of cancer. She meets Peter at a comedy club but has to leave when she finds out here brother has taken a toll for the worst. At the club the very unfunny and ani-gay Todd Friel turns up for a crappy cameo. Peter takes the stage while Dianna has her car break down. A homeless guy tries to break in. We are supposed to think hes bad when hes really trying to save her from an oncoming train. Why didn't he say something? The message is he was trying to save her like Christians are trying to save gays by telling them about the religion. The film ends with Peter visiting Diana in the hospital. It turns out that she was lesbian. Its sad that she feels so awful now that she may change her sexuality. Its written its like a choice. Really stupid end to a really stupid film.
The movie only clocks in at 49 minutes without credits. Its a short film ad. This is really not a film. Ray asked for 200 grand from his followers for a film that was mostly already done and is not even an hour. Not to mention he charged anther 20 bucks for people to see the film at first. That's what religion is Is guess. A way to get money. Yet the Bible says a rich man can not go to heaven.
So how is this film. Well to put it simply its awful. Its just bigoted anti gay trash. This film is very biased offers no insight on anything. Its a complete waste. Its boring and tedious. The main character is very unlikable. The whole film is poorly written, poorly directed and overall very poorly made. Its no different that something a KKK member or Nazi could make. There is not a single positive thing I can say. This movies is absolute crap. It belongs in a toilet. I don't think I have ever hated a film so much in my life. I can honestly say its not only one of the worst films I have ever seen but the worst film I have ever seen.
Quantum of Solace (2008)
Quantum of Souless
Quantum of Solace is the 22nd Bond film to be released from EON productions and sadly it is the very worst. Im a huge Bond fan and the Bond film before this (Casino Royale) is one of my favorites but this was one huge disappointment to say the least.
The film starts by breaking a tradition. Since 1962 every Bond film opened with the famous gun barrel shot. Not here.
We open with a car chase. Bond speeds through Siena, Italy with some cargo in the trunk. Its Mr.White. This very first scene is incredible. Incredible that a Bond film can open with such a horribly edited chase. Cut after cut. It looks very unprofessional but this is just a taste of things to come. It also has the villains shooting Bond dead on but nothing will hit him. Clique. It then goes on to the opening titles and song. The titles by MK12 are ugly and the song is sung horribly but the music itself is good.
We go to M and Bond interrogating Mr.White. We are about to find out what the organization "Quantum" really is but then Ms bodyguard Mitchell turns to be a double agent and Mr.White escapes. Bond chases Mitchel and kills him and we get some more choppy action. The hand held camera known a "shaky cam" gets really annoying and hard to watch. Bond later kills a contact named Edmund Slate and meets a girl named Camille. She is cute but very dull for a Bond girl. Camille meets up with our main villain Dominic Greene (White? Greene? Reservior Dogs anyone?). Greene looks more like a crack addict than a Bond villain. The worst villain of the series I must say. His henchman is named Elvis. He looks just like Jim Carry in Dumb and Dumber. Greene is helping General Medrano who is betraying his people. Greene wants Camille dead but Bond rescues her and there is a boat chase. There are great boat chases in From Russia with Love, Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun and The World is Not Enough but now we got yet another choppy action scene. The villains shoot all over the place again and they don't hit Bond...again. It all looks horrible.
We meet up with Felix Lieter in a meeting with Greene. We learn that Greene evil scheme involves Bolivian oil or so we think. Its really water. We need Bond for that? Bond then crashes Quantums meeting at the opera. I had hopes for this scene but we get...yet again...another action scene where the editing is crazy. This is the worst one yet. It moves so fast and it even looks like parts are missing. Can we get someone who can film action? Or knows enough to keep the camera on it.
Later Bond gets the help of Mathis and a girl named Fields and she reminds me of Molly Ringwald. Her full named is Strawberry Fields but we can only see her full name in the end credits! Why?
Bond is upset over the death of Vesper from Casino Royale but I guess he gets over it because he has sex with "Fields". Later at Greenes party he chats with Bond an Camille. The dialog is rather dull. Fields trips Elvis down the stairs. I guess its supposed to be funny. M is on Bonds case throughout the movie. All she does is complain and complain. It get really annoying after a while.
There is a homage to Goldfinger in this film buts its really a dead giveaway During the opera scene there is one homage to The Spy who Loved Me. Die Another Day did that already. Why are we doing it again? Is that a homage to Die Another Day? Hmmm. There is another scene I don't get. After one of Bond accomplishes is killed (I wont say who) Bond has a touching moment and then it cuts to Bond throwing him in the trash! Did he think the cops would think that he was robbed killed and put him in the trash? Odd...very odd.
Another one of Bonds accomplishes is drowned in oil but the villains manage to bring her to the hotel not spilling a drop anywhere. Aperenty nobody got suspicious of a bunch of guys bringing a dead girl covered in oil to a hotel! It makes zero sense. There is a plane shootout that is really poorly edited again. We come to the finale of the film witch involves a hotel in the desert(?) that has explosives all over the place. There is more really bad "action". The film end with Bond letting Greene go in the dessert with only a can of oil to drink. Bond has killed many times in cold blood before but this is the first time he has tortured anyone. Is this James Bond or the Punisher?
The film ends with Bond alone and depressed. Then the gun barrel comes on at the end with Bond walking like he has to go to the bathroom and the gun sounds like a toy.
QOS is a horrible, ugly, dull, boring film. Craig is a good actor but I do not care for him Bond at all. The directing, filming and editing is some of the worst I have ever seen. Bond is becoming a very dull and generic thug rather than a suave, sophisticated spy. Casino Royale is excellent but what happened here?
