Inside Job (2010)
Good film...but pedantic.
This movie was a fascinating watch, with many interesting sound-bytes from big names in the financial sector. This is an important film and engaging...and it held my attention throughout.
To say this is a balanced film would be an over-statement. It over-simplifies (in a pedantic manner) what is an extremely complex story. Using Damon as confident narrator reveals more clearly the bias.
Ferguson simplistically argues that deregulation is evil...and government regulation is good. The truth lies somewhere in between. Much of the blame of the housing bust, unemployment, etc., also lies with home buyers who knew they should never have taken out mortgages, but I didn't hear much of this in the film.
Enjoy and learn from this film, but bring a critical eye along with the popcorn.
