And no, I've yet to see The Walking Dead and I didn't like Lost. Sorry.
I think my top 5 really reflects what I like because after that it got hard to number them.
(These aren't in any particular order, by the way.)
And if you noticed, comedies more than anything else.
My Vote Says It All
I love movies. Just in general. And I have never shut off a movie halfway through just because I feel all movies need the full run time to redeem themselves. This didn't. At all. In fact, it just got worse. Keep in mind I'm the type of person who rarely dislikes a movie, let alone hates it. Mostly because I only watch movies I think I'd like. That being said, this is the worst movie I've ever seen. To think I could have been watching Family Guy with the time I spent watching this crap.
They made cliché after cliché-- it was sickening! I have never met a person with as many problems as the main character. I know people who have cut themselves. I know people who are constantly drinking or doing drugs. I know people who steal. And I know people who will do whatever they can to be popular. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON. It's like the writers mixed everyone they knew in high school into the main character.
Not to mention how uncalled for everything she did was. Unless that girl was seriously bipolar, she had very little reason to act out the way she did. A lot of kids parents are divorced and less, but still a good handful, of kids have parents who date losers. That's no reason to cut yourself! She must have been bipolar or something relatively similar! But if she was, the movie should have said so. But it didn't.
And there was one scene where they were snorting coke. Is this 1976?! Can you even get a coke dealer anymore?
There were unanswered questions on top of it all, too. The other girl who rats her out. Why did she do it? Was she actually worried? Is she so petty that it was about not letting her stay at her house?
And my last complaint was a lack of ending. It just stopped. We don't know if the girl got help. We don't know what happened to anyone, really. I'm sure the filmmakers think it's cool to just end a movie on some kind of cliffhanger, but they're wrong. It wasn't cool and you left the movie on a depressing note that, frankly, had my mother in tears. You can't just end something like that. However, it was in a way the perfect ending. The movie was disappointing throughout, why not give us a disappointing ending?
Oh and whoever casted this thing is out of their mind if they expect me to believe that any of those characters are 13. I know you have to fill out a little extra paperwork to get actors under 18, but if you cared at all about your movie, you would fit the part.
Jeremy Sisto, I love you man, but this movie was beneath you.
Baby Geniuses (1999)
You people never get it!
See, I watched this movie when I was a kid and loved it. I watched it again today with the full knowledge that everyone hates it. The first review I saw on here, this guy was watching it with his girlfriend that he said broke up with him after seeing this. Was that a joke? This is a children's film! FOR KIDS! You can't compare it to Oscar winners, you can't even compare it to movies you like. Are kids shows actually crap or are you just not their target audience? Should Blue's Clues be compared to The Sopranos? Use your heads, people! This movie was cute. Nothing special, but certainly not the worst. My opinion: either think like a child when you watch this or leave the criticism up to your kids. I thought that was obvious, guess not.
