Goodfellas (1990)

Iconic and my personal favourite movie of all time.

Goodfellas is a movie that if it came out yesterday it would be just as relevant and impressive. It has stood the test of time and is still the greatest mobster movie, surpassing The Godfather in my opinion, and I would argue is the greatest movie of all time. The back-way restaurant scene still works beautifully and has I have seen it repeated and mimicked constantly. A must watch for any movie lover. Martin Scorsese has had an amazing career with other fantastic films such as The Departed, Gangs of New York, Casino, Raging Bull, and Taxi Driver. It is not a coincidence that Robert DeNiro has appeared in 4 of these as he has been excellent in all of them starting with Mean Streets. His peak was arguably Goodfellas as well as Ray Liotta who has had trouble duplicating his success of the years. With such an impressive filmography, for Goodfellas to stand out among them really proves just how amazing it was. A must watch for a Scorsese fan, DeNiro fan, Liotta fan, mobster fan, and a movie fan.
