Mlyn i krzyz (2011)
Lech Majewski found out the essence of arts!
Lech Majewski shows himself like a superb person. He makes a great directing in the movie 'The Mill and The Cross'. He shows that knows all about history, coming back to 16th century, and remembering us with a special form: from the vision of the painter Pieter Bruegel. His thinks, his questions and his eyes in the community that he is going to make a painting about.
The plot is more superb than the directing, so the screenplay is more important than the directing, but the two are just the same. The story goes on Belgium, where a clear society was rising. The people there works, plays and eats for surviving. So, the impiety comes. One cavalry send from the king of Spanish kingdom comes to the community to sin, without knows, without piety, just for show us, audience, how cruel they are.
Jesus doesn't explain to us that we have to kill the people who doesn't believe in god. But for the king of Spain, he did, or better, he thinks that this is justice. No, man. This is impiety, and if we works like that, the world is gonna to explode. Each one believe in what he wants. If we don't respect, we're showing prejudice, and it goes the same for everybody. Because if we don't do this, the prejudice (plague from the devil) will destroys us, and was this what happen to the Spanish Kingdom, the movie doesn't show, because it is more specific, but everybody who like history knows.
The scenario and art directing are spectacular. Just nostalgic to us, shows a different age in such a simple way.
Just "BRAVO" to Majewski!

Jodaeiye Nader az Simin (2011)
Asghar Farhadi is more important than you think
I saw this movie from Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, here in Brazil, and what a great movie, very well done. I never imagine that it would be better than About Elly another great movie from Farhadi.
the film is simply stunning. Asghar Farhadi shows several problems beasts who bear in this new modern world with a simple divorce that will bring thousands of problems to the family of the film. It shows us how we make mistakes and lies with so shamelessly, and throw it in your face acting as a criticism.
The director take us with the family of the movie to a lot of problems and he will try to solves it, but it seems there is no solutions. So a dramatic end comes. I can't imagine how Farhadi directed this movie. It was a visceral directing, but how a director from the east side of the world are not indicate to Best Achievement in Directing, we can't talk about Academmy Awards. Just about Best Foreign Movie, and I put my gun in Oscar's face saying: "This movie was the Best Foreign Movie of 2011, if you don't give him the award I just shot on your eye." But taking out the pessimism, I think that is 100% of chance to the movie "A Separation" be one of the movies that will compete for BEST FOREIGN MOVIE in Oscar.
Jorge Amado no Cinema (1979)
The First Adaptation from a novel by Jorge Amado
Is just a independent documentary made by the best Brazilian director ever, Glauber Rocha, which tell about the first movie based on a novel from the modernist Jorge Amado, the movie was adapted by another great Brazilian director, that is alive legend, called by "Tenda dos Milagres", is just that, but the only good thing in the movie is the comments from famous writers, directors and others, about this movie and the novel from Jorge Amado. Jorge Amado was a modernist write, or better, a writer from the modernism, a literary movement that began in Bazil with the writers Oswald de Andrade, Manuel Bandeira and Mário de Andrade, it began in THE WEEK OF MODERN ART, in 1922, and every year this WEEK is commemorated, here in Brazil. Thanks
The Tree of Life (2011)
Sublime and Daring as Space Odyssey
Terrence Malick made a inspiring movie that involves the origin of species, having some connections with the movie from Stanley Kubrick, that both talks about "the dawn of men", and the movie have too a religious side, a side of faith, showing us that the only way to overcome the problems and intrigues with among a family its with forgiveness. This film has two sides, one talking about science and another about the casual problems of a 1950s family, and our philosopher Terrence Malick, that has grew up in a farm, connecting the two sides, he studied philosophy in Harvard, and was because of this and the thing about farm he did "Days of Heaven", that I consider his best work.
Brad Pitt and Sean Penn have a plausible role, doing all necessary, but nothing to be indicate on academy, BUT Jessica Chastain did a different role, a different role and she worked very well, it can be a award. "The Tree of Life" is a important movie for the history of cinema, is a different experience and it can inspire you. Alexandre Desplat make a great original music for the film, but what was really important on this, was the cinematography, with a great editing and scenario. If you are not so addicted to cinema, you will think that the movie is a little somnolent, but I said, the movie is more to think that our existence is really important, show us to don't do bad things, because a little problem can destroy several lives.
