I Love My Dad (2022)
Waaaay better than anything so far this year!
This movie is deftly written, directed, and starred in by James Morosini with Patton Oswalt turning in a great performance as his deeply flawed, deeply loving father. There is not a wasted second in the picture, so perfect is the writing and pacing. I laughed, I cringed, I cried, I laughed, i cheered!
Don't wast you time & money on bloated Hollywood formulaic schlock; THIS is the movie to see if you want deeply drawn characters, a story that doesn't insult you with clichés, wild comedy, and a tug on your heartstrings.
I Love My Dad should be in every major and minor city across the land.
The Presence (2010)
In the tradition of The Haunting
That feeling on the back of your neck when you're in the house utterly alone, and it's completely silent
except for
that !
That's how this movie builds on you. It doesn't use gobs of red Karo syrup, and no one flies backward on a wire in front of a green screen. It instead plays on your childhood fears when real things go bump.
The house in which the story unfolds is a character unto itself - beautiful and creepy and very well photographed throughout.
A fun and refreshing ghost story, give it a tumble.
