Why such a low rating?
The movie Rocky is an all time classic and the 4th greatest movie ever made in my opinion. The plot of the movie is simple, but it's really about the character, Rocky Balboa on his inside which is what makes it so good. It's also a love story, If a=Adrian weren't a character it would have been pointless. "Rocky" is a man's movie which you would think is a movie full of explosions and guns and people constantly using the F-bomb over and over...or something like that (ie: Die Hard, The Expendables, Rambo, Robo Cop, The Terminator) but there's just something about Stallone that makes every one of his movies at least feel like your watching a film like that. Maybe it's because of the boxing scenes. The writing, the directing and the action is top notch. Rocky is fun has a heart and has cool fight scenes. Rocky gets the "one of the greatest movies of all time!" award. If you haven't seen it rent it. If you have buy the most special DVD you can find.
Great, but at the same time, a let down
Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. Now I just copied and pasted that i had no idea what was going on in this movie. The film is very good looking. The reason I said a let down is because i was expecting more since Christopher Nolan made The Dark Knight and Batman Begins which are two of my favorite movies ever. There is nothing that ever made me scared to go to sleep or anything. It's still one of the best movies of the year though because let's face it there hasn't been a lot of good movies out this year that are amazing like last year, like Avatar, Zombie Land, District 9, Up, and The Hurt Locker. The battle scenes were very impressive, academy award winning acting, but nothing really clicked so i am giving this an 8.5 and it's still worth your money but it's not an astounding master piece like people say it is.
Absolutely horrible! This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life!!! Now in this, we don't just get Alvin and the chipmunks, but we also get the "chipettes". Dave, played by Jason Lee who you can clearly see doesn't want to be there. He's like, alright, you got me once you're not gonna get me again. So he's in one scene in the beginning and then you never see him again. Now Dave wants them to get an education so they go to high school and...and CHIPMUNKS DON'T GO TO HIGH SCHOOL!!! It would be different if it were a chipmunk high school but no, they go to a human high school where they have to worry about not getting stepped on. And then the jocks, now these are the wimpiest jocks i've ever seen. They're extremely jealous of the chipmunks for no reason and start picking on them. So they want to beat up...chipmunks doesn't really make a lot of sense. And meanwhile they have to win a contest to...(chuckles) get back the school music program. I can't stand thinking about this movie! The writing was so bad that in the theater I wanted to scream out "WHO WROTE THIS!!!" The acting was terrible. And nothing in this movie made sense at all. I kinda liked the first one but this was complete trash and again my least favorite movie of all time, Thank You.
8th best movie of all time, 2nd best movie of 2009!
The movie Zombie Land staring Jessie Eisenburg and Woody Harlson, is set in a post apocalyptic America, two months after mad cow disease became "mad person disease" which later mutated into "mad zombie disease." Eisenburg's character, Columbus makes up his own very smart and hilarious rules to survive the apocalypse. He meets Harlson who is the exact opposite of him and will risk his life for a Twinkie. Later on they meet two girls who help them fight the zombies. And the movie is basically about these four different people using team work to fight zombies. The writing was probably the strongest part about the film. They are able to make very chuckled jokes through out and give depth into the character while showing you the fun of fighting zombies. The battle sequences were also very impressive with all of the Awesome ZOMBIE GORE!!! The whole movie is fun, funny, filled with great dialog, and is more thrilling than The Hurt Locker. SEE IT!!!!!!
Dinner for Schmucks (2010)
Very good, and very underrated
For some reason I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else in the theater I was in, who were all cracking up VERY VERY VERY hard at every single joke. I found myself laughing hard at most jokes. Overall this was a very funny film it was no "Godfather" but it was a hysterical movie. The strongest part of the movie to me was the plot. The plot was so good, that at one point the entire theater gasped and went "ooooooooooooooooooooooo" over...well I don't want to spoil anything but it had to do with one of the main characters and his relationship with his girlfriend. THAT'S HOW GOOD THE PLOT WAS! Steve Carrell was perfect. I'm so glad he's leaving "The Office" yes, it's an okay show but we've seen enough of him playing an annoying boss who we never get to understand as a character or anything. Anyway Dinner for Shmucks was a good movie at times (hardly) it slacked off a bit but i'm going to have to give it a low "FULL PRICE!" If you want a good laugh at the movies, see Grown Ups but if you don't like Adam Sandler, see Dinner for Shmucks!
Happy Gilmore (1996)
One of the funniest movies ever made!
Happy Gilmore is one of my top 20 favorite movies of all time. You'll be laughing the whole way through. For those of you who haven't seen it?????????????????????? It's basically about an aggressive hockey player playing golf. Well that's just the basic idea, pure genius! An instant classic sports film. The writing was great the idea was great, the directing was great. I can't believe Siskel & Ebert could hate this movie so much and give it such a negative review just like they did with Ace Ventura. This movie that I've seen about 378,953 times is gold. BETTER THAN CADDYSHACK! If I were on "At the movies" i'd give it a "THUMBS UP" If I were on Spill.com, i'd give it a "BETTER THAN SEX" If you haven't seen it go buy it, go rent it, it really is spectacular!
