Santa Claus (1959)
Santa Claus [1959] A Wonderful Family Film.
I Personally Like this movie very much, regardless of the so called ''critics'' making undue fun of it. sure it may seem like a wacky mish mosh on the surface, but when you get down to it there are some strong emotional moments as well. such as the scenes where the little rich boy who has all the toys in the world, only wants the attention & love of his parents. we see the child's parents at a club on x-mas eve & they are approached by a mysterious waiter [ Santa out of eye shot]who serves them the 'coctail of remembrance' which reminds them of what is most dear to them & they return to their son. the other scenes involving poor little girl Lupita, who only wants a Doll for x-mas & is tempted by the Devil to do evil, is finally Rewarded by Santa for being pure of Heart. the emotion shown by Lupita's Mother is also very Heartfelt. if you watch this film with an open mind, you will ''feel'' the true Spirit of Christmas. i Highly Recommend it.
Night Fright (1967)
''Night Fright'' [1967] TV movie.
please disregard all the above ''critics'' who feel it's their 'mission' in life to ridicule classic cinema from the good old days! well, I'm here to set the record straight! NIGHT FRIGHT is a fun, interesting little movie with beautiful girls, a very cool monster & an excellent swinging 60s soundtrack by ''The WILDCATS''. I've watched it numerous times & it's like taking a time machine back to simpler, more enjoyable times. this film has what i call ''60's charm''. i can give it no higher praise than that. other movies that have ''60's charm'' are: HORROR of party beach [1964], FRANKENSTEIN meets the space monster[1965] & SANTA CLAUS conquers the martians[1964]. if you want to cozy up in your favorite chair with popcorn, soda & an open mind, this is a charming slice of a bygone era.
