The 10th Kingdom (2000)
Love this Movie~
I love this movie, it goes above and beyond on attention to detail. Every stitch and scene is planned to the letter. The casting was spot on too, you can relate to pretty much every character in the movie. I love how it takes traditional fairy tales most of us grew up with and takes a whole new spin on them. I can watch ti over and over.
The only drawback was it could have had a sequel, since the ending was semi open, and it never did. But even without it, it's a great story. Everyone delivers. Some things might be too scary for younger children, but the movie overall is no worse than the Grimm Fairy tales I used to read as a kid.
It's a delight. You'll be hooked.
It was a cute movie, but they could find better ways to spend 12 million on a movie. Bet half of that went to Britney. Which was money not well spent. Probably used to pay K Feds drug habit, or his alimony. Most people spend their whole lives to make that much, and she makes one crappy movie and bam. Not to mention it was written by famed Grey's writer Shonda Rhimes. If I knew that before I started watching the show I never would have watched. I am surprised they gave her another job after this movie.
Yes, it is about friends and a road trip, but the plot jumps around and was basically a ploy to get more record sales for Brit. And to satisfy the teeny boppers. Not a fully formed movie, more like the deformed twin.
The reviews of this movie are hilarious, go ahead read them. These reviewers put the writers to shame and should have written the movie, it would have been worth watching, and worth 12 mill. Let's face it, it sucked. It was the worst thing Britney has ever made that didn't come out of her diaper.
Alien Apocalypse (2005)
Just bad News
Everything said by the last poster is true, this movie is beyond bad, it makes SciFi movies look good! Being an old Herc/Xena fan I recognized a lot that was used, including music, and just basic camera stuff. But this movie was in no compare to the shows, the set was sparce the script lacked anything but and occasional funny bit from Bruce, and they hardly let Renee act, she was either passed out or gagged. Extremely bad move and major loss there!
Overall I watched it because I love the actors, but as I watched it I figured Renee and Bruce both would be hiding their heads and hoping people would forget it. I know I would, they had to know that it was very poor compared to anything they have ever done. Renee alone has tons of credits to her name, and Bruce's Army of Darkness is 1,000 times better, campy and all.
It was obvious that the money, very little, SciFi even gave it, was spent on those lame aliens costumes and the CGI. Just look at the wigs and acting of the cast and you will know! Every time I watch a SciFi movie, which most are very poor, but this one is poorerererer extra "er", I think "they cancelled Farscape for this?" a show beyond compare, with writing and acting and damn good CGI and sets, Geeze! So in short so save your time and rent Army of Darkness, or Xena, or Huck Finn...and don't watch this "movie!" I know that somewhere Renee wants you to forget, do her the favor and never remember!

The Notebook (2004)
One good Love Story
Sounds like a lot of the negative comments about this movie come from a lack of understanding, Uhum...it was advertised and promoted as a Love story, the book and the movie are mushy...mushy is cool with me, so i ask you negative heads did you get forced to watch it? Were you taken against your will? tied up? then why see it, you knew it was a Love story, most are trite and take after each other and aren't true to life that is why they are Love stories..frankly i thought it was a different love story than ones i have seen. I am a fan of Nick Sparks work and know he makes elaborate LOVE Stories, not action films. So negative..ones why see it, why vote, must gave made some impact on your psyche....So we gave it a 7.7/10 big deal, it was what it was a Summer Romance film, viewed mainly in Summer, by people who like them. I believe Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling did splendidly, they gave us a true dramatic episode from each of them, esp in the cold Canada weather. Brava/o to them both...i hope to see them in many other things. If you are a fan of "A Walk to remember" you will love this movie!
