Evidence of Truth (2016)
What bothers me about this flick is the leading lady. Thinking herself a young woman but long in the tooth. The hair is annoying with a hank hanging perfectly on each side and in the back. Straight hair saying nothing. She gives a dead pan performance. A detective walking around in stiletto heels, not really. Wearing tight clothes and looking like a hooker, she is real bad in this. Attempting to do some funny boxing (in stiletto heels) Are we sure this isn't a comedy? Sorry but I found this hard to believe. The remaining cast did the best they could in a mediocre film. Please no more of this actress. I like Sebastian Spence but he doesn't get much of a chance in this. Overshadowed by the bad appearance and performance of our leading lady.
Suicide Note (2016)
uninteresting badly acted
Another bad movie with just as bad acting. Most characters had no depth, seemed bored and over acted most of the time. Bug-eyed leading lady with hair down to her ass walking around like in a daze. Again we are faced with watching these hopefuls in film to display their lack of talent. And the sight of all of them with this fad of long vampire-like hair is nerve ending. I am so sick of seeing them with hair hanging in their face down their backs. It seems they think this is good acting. This viewer doesn't think so. And their eyes (women) are bug like. They are enlarged as though they just sat on an electric wire. I'm sorry, not their fault, they were hired by someone else. But they are bad actresses. The guys fared better. Bringing some sense of reality to their roles. Please let this new age hair do disappear. It looks like they just got out of bed. What would these movies be without cell phones and computers? I can always predict that they will pick one up eventually. Curse of this age, Technology and hideous hair styles.
Silly nonsense and bad acting and script
Don't waste your money on this drivel. A terrible silly and stupid script matched with such bad acting it makes you sick. The jealous housewife who is the instigator in the whole thing gives you reason why the hubby strayed. She is a nutcase. There was a scene when she is testing out a grave she was digging and I just wanted to cover her up hoping it was all over. And the hubby is just as bad letting his crazy wife kill people and standing around like he's retarded. Absolutely no balls. Hard to believe how he ever could attract the young girl at all. Then there is the sister who has no nerves at all and she continues to hang around when she keeps saying they are doing the wrong thing. And there you have it. So, can you blame me for finding this movie so stupid and the characters just as empty headed to match.
I Am Watching You (2016)
Too bad she grew up.
Remember Madeline Zima from HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE and THE NANNY as a wonderful child actress. She was cute then and worked well in her roles. In some case child actors grow into adult roles quite well and some don't. In this case Zima didn't. She seems stiff and without energy in her acting. It is also hard to accept that the incredible Brian Ames could ever want to be with her at all. This handsome actor goes crazy over her. She starts it all by being a peeping Tom watching his nightly trysts from her window. Then he goes after her, which is hard to believe as she in not a looker for his kind of looks. So she snoops into his life, including breaking into his apartment and at one time when he is in her apartment she accuses him of breaking in. Duh. It just doesn't work in my book. Zima is a nice looking girl but not adult enough to play this kind of a role. And Ames is certainly adult and sexy enough for any role in my book. Too bad.
Nightmare Nurse (2016)
Hard to believe any of this. Young Couple have accidentally, killed someone in a car, go to hospital, she's okay, he fractured leg cannot walk and needs a nurse to care for him while girlfriend works. Seems nursie is wacko and wants boyfriend for herself. Feud with couple and she is fired. Boyfriend is just an idiot and without a clue to life and whatever. Seems all the women around him protecting him fighting over him and generally being a nuisance. And boyfriend just lays there helpless. So helpless he can't even take his own meds. Give me a break. It's his leg not his arms, hands, etc. Even the ending is not a surprise as I knew it in the beginning. In the ending boyfriend lies on sofa while all the women are fighting over him. Duh. He can hobble to the door to let people in but can't move when they are having at it around him. Girls, he's not worth it. Move on to a man. This is a boy without any balls.
Zoe Gone (2014)
The girl that had the baby is a loonie and doesn't even deserve the baby in the first place. Her acting is over the top and almost comedic. Most of the cast is playing melodrama. Crying, screaming and making total nuisances of themselves. No real drama here, not even mystery. Boring script of another steal my baby script. Even the detectives seemed lost and floundering throughout this epic silly story. However, it was a good flick to work on other things on my computer. Didn't have to watch this trite all the time. In a half hour nothing happening. The little girl then gets a gun (another comedic moment) that wasn't even loaded. Another laugh. Was this supposed to be tongue and cheek? I only wished they'd have kept the tape on her mouth all the time. Don't watch this silly movie on LMN. Doesn't get any worse than this, believe me. I didn't wait for the ending. So silly and unbelievable and the young girl actress annoyed the hell out of me.
I give this a 10 for sure. Cast is brilliant and script works for them all. My favorite actress Julianne Moore only a supportive role. Still loved her in this. Rebecca Mornay is terrific in this. She plays the role with such evil and always with this innocent look on her face. You love to hate her. Annabella Sciorra and Matt McCoy as the unsuspecting victims were well cast with the right touch of simplicity needed. Ernie Hudson was brilliant as the slow minded handyman. Also special mention should go to the child victim Madeline Zima who did a wonderful acting job. Kudos to the director and screenwriter. This is one of the best I've seen in a long time. But this is Mornay's film all the way. She is brilliant. I usually hate the female villains, but this time I loved her performance from start to finish. A must see for all viewers. It's on FLIX now. Was on LMN.
Lila & Eve (2015)
Good and bad
Lila is the good and Eve is the bad. Performances that is. Somewhat long in telling and several boring moments don't help this overdone melodrama. Jennifer Lopez as Eve was definitely mis-cast. Not much depth in her nor strength. Just a busy body giving orders to a distraught Lila. Lila on the other hand, Viola Davis, gave a touching and beautiful performance, considering the script was ordinary. I can't say when but along the way this film became a soap opera in the typical LMN way. I felt bad for Davis as she really gave it all she had, which was brilliant with lines that didn't match the passion she exuded. Too bad. Most of the remaining cast members said their lines but were no match to Davis as a mother who lost her son due to street violence. I wonder if we didn't have Eve in this story if it might have been a better film with Davis carrying it all on her shoulders. I do feel Lopez dragged it down. And I like Jennifer, just not in this type of role. Check her out in "Enough". Brilliant.
A Mother's Suspicion (2016)
Annoying leading lady Lindsay Hartley snoops around for her lost daughter. She's got these bug eyes, treats her boy friend like crap, goes against almost everyone to carry out her purpose. But she fails. Gets caught by the her daughter's boyfriend and then I just turned it off as I was sick of watching this silly nonsense. No acting laurels in this one. I just had not feelings for anyone in this. Maybe the boyfriend who Hartley was terrible to named Connor. He tried to help but she was really lousy to him. I hope when the film ends, he is gone. I'll never know as I don't want to know how this ends, believe me. I see I need more lines about this. Hard to find anything else to critique. Only to repeat what I already said about Hartley not being good and rest of cast at the mercy of a bad script and not too good acting.
Don't Wake Mommy (2015)
LMN does it again
Sorry but I found this one not only far fetched but actually silly. The story was predictable. The characters so outlandish I actually felt sorry for the actors having to portray them. Choice of casting was okay but for leading lady played by Ashley Bell. She was nuts. She played her role as if she were mentally ill. Too much. Sara Rue did somewhat better as the bad guy. Just enough phony smiles and evil glances to make her a threat. The usual baby scare, abduction, unattended mother with problems as an easy target for the evil guy. What annoyed me most is the unsuspecting mother hadn't a clue when it was so obvious as to her lying friend.
The ending was not satisfying enough. The evil person should have gone through more torture for the torture she caused her friend. Oh, yes, the babies were wonderful and natural. Best casting of the film.
