The Expendables (2010)
Before going to see the expendables, I had heard a lot of bad reviews about it having no plot and was fearing the worst, but I was very pleasantly surprised. There is something for everything in this movie. There is a plot to it and it allows for lots and lots of great action. All the actors do a very good job, but you can't expect Oscar winning performances. The action bits are pure gold, Stallone, Statham and Li make an awesome combination. Me and my friend found parts quite funny as well, as some bits are ridiculous but still awesome! This film is just so amazing! I highly recommend this to any action film fan, it won't disappoint! Any Stallone fan should definitely see this, I was Rambo a few day earlier and this is just as good!
The Gruffalo (2009)
A short animation, enjoyable for all ages
I read the Gruffalo when i was a small kid (im now 14) and at Christmas I noticed this was on T.V. and decided to watch with my family.
I was impressed with the animation and the characters voices fitted the parts well. I was watching with a 18 month old baby, and in some parts so got scared, as it is dark in a few places.
I believe that it should have won the BAFTA it was up for. This is a fantastic little story that people of all ages can enjoy together, with brilliant animation and an amazing script. Although very young children like my cousin may find it a little scary in places.
The Dark Knight (2008)
A very good movie
The Acting in the Dark Knight was very well done, as was the directing. Heath Ledger's Joker was exactly how I think the Joker should be played and his characteristics were perfect. Christian Bale was also playing the perfect part. I think that The Dark Knight was a lot better than Batman begins, I think the Dark Knight had more depth to it. Every part of this film was brilliant, the music, the acting, the atmosphere, everything! Personally, my favourite scene was the opening scene as it sets the film up perfectly. Which is why I'm choosing that scene for my GCSE film studies coursework. I think that this is one of the best films i have ever seen. The best film of the year and possibly the decade.
