This was a really great movie
14 May 2012
This was fantastic! Great acting, great story. Emotionally moving. You can drop the "50 Cent" Mr. Jackson - Great writing, great acting! I can't believe this has been rated so low by others, did they actually watch the whole thing? I almost didn't watch this movie because of the rating but I'm sure glad that I did. I think this movie deserves 6.5 overall rating so I'm giving it a 10 to bring it up to par. Curtis Jackson has come a long way in his acting ability and should be rewarded for it along with his writing skills. I was never a big fan of his music (I'm just an old white boy :)), but the acting is very real and believable. I hope to see more movies like this from him.

Thanks!

An Amazing Movie! - (bring tissue)
22 August 2011
This was an absolutely amazing film. If you're gonna watch it, go to Walmart and buy a box of tissue for each person who's going to watch it with you because you will spend 95% of the movie totally choked-up. Truly an inspiration. Not to take anything away from any of the other actors in the film but this has to be one of Aidan Quinn's greatest performances. The raw emotion was overpowering while remaining completely inspiring. If you like true stories of how powerful the human spirit can be when faced with adversity then you will love this movie. I honestly can't understand how the overall rating of this movie is only 4.7. This is the kind of movie that makes you want to be a better person in all areas of your life, I'm inspired to be a better father and husband. I have met people like these portrayed in the movie so it's easy for me to believe they exist. If you're macho, watch it anyway, just watch it alone - but WATCH IT!

It's nice to see a quality family film
12 June 2010
This movie was very well done indeed. Inspiring, convincing, well acted and great for all ages. The film and sound quality are A+ I wish more movies of this genre were made using the high standards used for this film. I was delighted to see Gavin MacLeod(from the Love Boat) and Robert Guillaume. I grew up in the 70's and this movie brought back some of my fondest memories as I'm sure it will for so many others. There is one very emotional scene that parents of children under 8 should be present for but other than that, this movie has the potential to inspire anyone from 8 to 120. Movie tip: forget the popcorn; bring tissue, lots of it.

Wonderful!!!

This is a fantastic movie! The performances are spot on; Sandra Bullock does an amazing job of portraying the sincerity of a good southern Christian woman.

Very inspirational, a great story of compassion and love.

There should be more like this.

There are a few situational moments that help to give deeper realistic meaning to this story that disqualify it for children under 13 but I feel it's necessary and meaningful.

As a Christian, I would recommend this to other Christian friends.

This is based on a true story and someday, if there are enough true stories like this happening, the world will be a better place.
