A catalogue of all of the films I have seen from countries inside the continent of Asia. Who needs the cinema of any other continent when you've got beautiful Japanese anime, disgusting Japanese torture porn, melodramatic Korean melodramas and high flying Cantonese kung fu flicks?

Recommendations are always more than welcome, so feel free to shoot some at me. As long as they're Asian of course!

While all of these films are absolutely terrible and disastrous there are a select few that have extreme comedic value. For that, I recommend "The Wicker Man", "The Room" and "The Happening" especially.

In terms of release, I go by first theatrical release in the home country of the film's origin. For example, Never Let Me Go was released theatrically in America in 2010 but came out in the UK in 2011, therefore I count it as 2011.

A bunch of films that I feel are criminally underrated. Some are more known than others, but that still doesn't mean they don't need to have more people see them. If you ask me to recommend you something, it will most likely be a film that appears in this list. With every film listed here I can guarantee a worthwhile experience upon viewing.

The films are listed in ascending order of how many people on the IMDb have rated the film to say they have seen it. The numbers are correct as of November 19th 2013.

a list of 369 titles
Last updated: February 25th 2014.

Controversy. Violence. Depravity.
369 titles in chronological order.

***This list is constantly updated, so please feel free to put any films that you think should be a part of this list, in the comment box.***

The majority of these films contain themes and elements that could be offensive. If you are easily offended, have a weak heart or a weak stomach then click the back button and never speak of this again.

What follows is a list of films that are not for the weak hearted and were created and meant to be seen strictly by mature audiences only. Some of the films shown in this list are extremely shocking and disturbing. There are many of them however that manage keep the shock to a minimum, in these films the depravity lies beneath the story and its' characters. Even though some of these films may have comedic elements or be very funny they are, at heart, very depraved and shouldn't be seen by anyone under the age of 18.

While there are a lot of brilliant cinematic pieces in this list there are also some terrible abominations of cinema. So I wouldn't recommend most of them, but if you're reading this right now you're probably not looking for a great screenplay or some fancy cinematography. A telling sign of this is that I have personally only seen 171 of the following 369 titles.

Just as a side-note: As the 1970s approached, filmmaking changed radically and gore was a staple of horror cinema from then on so the films that are included from before then do not include much gore and/or blood but still have their fair share.

Personal Favourite Title: Eraserhead
Personal Least Favourite Title: The Poughkeepsie Tapes

Filmmakers that appear most:
Takashi Miike, Koji Wakamatsu, David Cronenberg, Bill Zebub and Hisayasu Sato.

Stats correct as of February 22nd 2014.
Highest IMDb Rated Title: Oldboy (8.4/10)
Lowest IMDb Rated Title: Kill the Scream Queen (2.1/10)
Most Voted Title: Oldboy (240,896 votes)
Least Voted Title: Lesbian Harem (5 votes)
