That's It, That's All. (2008)
Snowboarding as I want it!
I'm 31 years old and started with snowboarding when I was 15. Terje Haakonsen was the big name and the sport was young, punky and cool. I've seen a lot of films and some of them is better then this when it comes to "sick tricks" and high airs. Some of the older films is much more raw and punky in style. This film is very relaxed, beautiful and almost dreaming. It also focus on what I see is the true heart of snowboard: free riding! There is short clips from big jumps and halfpipe but no rails, crazy roof drops or wacked out clips from the hotel. This is only a group of nice people who loves to ride and do it well. The scenery is magical. New Zeeland and Alaska is the most extreme places on earth to do helicopter tours in and just sit back and enjoy the beauty of earth is mind blowing. Soundtrack is well chosen and not a single weak minute or boring episode, you just want it to go on forever. That's it, that's all. This is snowboarding!
The Cable Guy (1996)
This is not a regular comedy!
This is a truly masterpiece and in my opinion Jim Carrey's best movie. He is perfect in the role as Chip Douglas and the acting is outstanding. The other characters are good too but Jim really stands out in every scene. The porno-password game, the fight at medieval times restaurant and the karaoke party is all great scenes. But the most of the audience and critics doesn't like it!? In fact, they think it was a disappointment and a piece of crap compared to Ace Ventura and The mask. Why?
I think the reason why some people don't like this is the bizarre mix between funny jokes (some scenes are VERY funny) and the fact that Chip Douglas is a VERY tragic person! He has spend all of his life watching TV-shows and movies and have absolutely no feelings for love and friendship. He is just that person that NO ONE will have as a friend. The ending scene on the big parabol is one of the most saddest scenes I've ever watched!
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Smart, funny and touching but not perfect
I've watched this movie about 5 times and I have to say I really love this movie! It's about life and growing up! There are some very touching scenes with clever dialogue and GOOD acting. Robin Williams is perfect as the psychologist and Matt Damon is trustworthy, so is Ben Affleck. Minnie Diver is also acting good and you can truly say that it's something between them, the only bad thing is her laugh! But there are some flaws that makes this film not as perfect as it could have been. The fighting scene are just ridiculous and Casey Affleck is acting a little bit too "dumb". Cole Hauser isn't saying anything at all! Stellan Skarsgård is not convincing as a professor, especially in the scene where he thinks that the answer is wrong but Will says it's right and set the paper on fire. And there is something with his accent.. Anyway, apart from some stupid scenes this is a touching film! The ending is also very good, it's just so genuine! I gave this 8 out of 10.
