The Confession (2011)
A Hit-man and a Priest, we are missing Robert Ludlum
Its a great thing, Hit-man and a Priest is a great combination of contemporary English literature, Robert Ludlum used this kind of theme in Bourne Series novels. Then Dan Brown also attempted something and there must be many more that I didn't get my hands on. Anyhow, this kind of series is a dream series for people of my generation, and it is very well written and well acted. Kiefer Sutherland is as perfectly cold as an assassin is supposed to be, he is amazing, it is just very cruel of the producers that they are making it so short, if they make it to proper length this series can beat the hell out of all the great shows, in fact after Dexter this is the first time that I really want to see something and wish it not to end.
Hats off to Kiefer Sutherland.
The Deer Hunter (1978)
When ever I am in mood of watching something really epic movie, I turn to Robert di Nero. "Once upon a time in America", "Casino" and "Cape Fear" made me his fan.
So, I just saw The Deer Hunter. Great movie. I normally don't write reviews, but I found a review on the movie page, that stated it as a bullshit movie. So it compelled me to say something too.
Well! The story is brilliant, the haters of the movie are actually the people with low IQ fit only to watch Rambo series with only bullets and no story.
The scene with Di Niro and Christoper Walken in the bar is one of my favorite scenes ever. The story of the characters is well built, every action of the characters in the movie actually depicts the psycho-analysis of a man in such condition.
And the hunting portion of the movie adds more adventure to it. C'est parfait.
Harper's Island (2009)
Don't waste your time
I happened to have nothing to do and there was a lot of time for Dexter to start again so I went on for another thriller. This is an awful series. The story is like some usual psycho story but the acting is very poor. The creators of the series try to create suspense but they try it so cheaply and with bad acting the effort is pathetic. The lead lady is overacting most of the time and the story is not interesting.
If there is a comparison line to make in psycho thrillers and on one extreme we place Dexter as exquisite than this series will be at the other end as abysmal. I even cant get myself to watch more than two episodes. Such waste of time and money.
This is one hell of a movie. I watched it three times before I got the message given by Guy Richie. I wonder what is wrong with the rating it deserves much better. I think people don't understand the movie.
Jason and Ray put up a great show. I loved the way they acted. I have seen most of Jason's movies but in this movie his acting is at esteem. And Ray Liota was incredible too. The story was very cool. It revolves around human psychology and our vanity and ego, complicated traits of human brain.
Its a must see if you are looking forward for a riddle to solve. I rate it 10/10.
