Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)
Black Ops; King of Call of Duty?
Call of Duty: Black Ops has done it. This game has it all; an completely riveting story in Campaign mode, an amazing multi-player option and the amazing addition of Zombies Mode.
To start, playing through Black Ops' Single Player mode was like being slammed into a movie directed by Stephen Spielberg and David Fincher; gripping story, great plot twists and incredible action. There is also a slew of talented Hollywood actors lending their voices to this game, which makes it that much more exciting. You will be hooked into the storyline as soon as you take control of main protagonist Alex Mason, who is trapped in an interrogation room, reliving flashbacks of his past missions until reaching the incredible climax of the game.
The Call of Duty series has prided itself on it's Multi-player portion of the game. Black Ops does not let the series down. This game has some great maps, weapons, perks and new customization options for your character to boot. Another good feature it has added, is the ability to play 2 Player Split Screen on Xbox Live, much like in the Gears of War Series. Another new feature is something called 'Combat Training'. This is exactly like playing Xbox Live against other players, except it pits you against computer controlled players, or Bots. This is a great game mode for someone who is inexperienced when it comes to playing Call of Duty against other players online, hence the 'Training' part of the title.
Finally, another great addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops, is the Zombie Mode. This game mode makes its return from Call of Duty: World at War. It was a huge fan favourite of the game and many people will argue and say it was the only enjoyable part of World at War. Either way, it is a wonderful addition to Black Ops. You can play it Solo or with another player in Co-operative mode, in 2 different levels (so far). Zombie mode is great if you don't have Xbox Live or don't feel like player Campaign. It can be very intense and enjoyable for one or more players.
The only possible downfall of the game, could be the game play. Since this game was developed by Treyarch, who made Call of Duty: World at War and but not the Modern Warfare games, it will have a different feel to the game. Some will find this a con to the game, others will see it as a pro.
Looking at it in a positive way, Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best of the series thus far. Give the game a chance, learn to adapt to the different feel of the game, and you will love Black Ops until the next Call of Duty title is released.

Casino Royale (2006)
The re-invention of Bond, James Bond.
Casino Royale is near flawless. This is by far the best installment in the James Bond Franchise. However, some Bond fans may frown upon Casino Royale. Upon following the footsteps of all the previous Bond films, Casino Royale decides to take a step in a different direction. First off, anyone interested in seeing this movie should know now that it DOES NOT have many tradition Bond features. If you are expecting to see; Q, laser watches, ejector seats and ejector seats, you will not see any of them. However, one Bond item returning is the Aston Martin, which is always impressive. Since this film is taking a new step, it's a whole new Bond experience. This film lends itself to seeing 007's more emotional side, which is all okay. It does a great job in filling in the blanks of what was missing with James Bond, and Daniel Craig does a great job in deliver that side of Bond to us. He may not have the 'usual' attributes of James Bond, but he makes up for that in every single other way. While watching this, you can feel each emotion that Bond is feeling. Not to say that this movie is all softy now, it does have some great action sequences and Craig also does them very well. If you decide you'd like to see this movie, you should keep in mind that it isn't your typical Bond film, but it does an excellent job at the new steps it's taking to re-create 007. It is a highly gripping film, with a superb story line and amazing acting from such actors as Daniel Craig and Eva Green.
Not just an incredible 007 movie, but just an all round amazing film.
