The Lost City (2022)
1/10
This movie sucks more than leeches.

Warning: Spoilers
I had to turn it off after thirty minutes. I gave it one star because Brad Pitt's character had the potential to rescue this movie, but they killed him off along with any chance to improve the story or create at least one interesting character.

Note to Sandra Bullock: why did you do this?

Note to Tatum Channing: don't do "stupid"

Note to Brad Pitt: way to get out of a bad movie without breaking a contract!

Note to readers: you have to really, really, really like rom-coms to get through this one.

Note to self: when a movie shows you how bad it is in the first ten minutes, believe it and turn it off right away.

What the hell was that???

Warning: Spoilers
I spent two hours waiting for something to happen, but turns out I was on a slow boat to nowhere. This may be a very deep psychological movie for some, but it left me deeply disappointed. Nice scenery, too bad about the story (or lack thereof). I was also left wondering why the hotel proprietor disappeared while the patrons were being rude and rowdy, then Peter disappeared and then George disappeared. They probably got as bored as I was because I too was ready to disappear.

I had to search the internet to find some explanation of what I just watched only to learn that the movie was so ambiguous that I missed all the "depth" and "powerful emotions" it supposedly contained.

This movie may receive kudos for being "critically acclaimed", but it left me feeling critically dissatisfied.

Bad Blood (2017–2018)

Best crime/drama series I've seen in 20 years
28 November 2021
My daughter begged my to watch this with her and I'm so glad I did. After the first episode I was hooked. I binge watched the whole first season in two days. It had everything I wanted in a program: exceptional writing, amazing ensemble cast and edge of my seat excitement. It also didn't have anything I detest: constant wiggly camera work, gratuitous/graphic violence, camera scenes and angles that change every 3 seconds and excessive foul language. I had to watch the second season immediately and even though it has a fictional storyline, it still held up. I hope Kim Coates is able to convince the producers that this series deserves a third season (or more for me).
