What a shame ...
I don't want to speak about CGI usage. Seems that a lot of people like it and get deeply impressed by it, otherwise these kind of movies wouldn't be such box-office hits. I find CGI is not a good way to transport emotions (exeptions: real comic movies like __The Incredibles (2004)__, which was amazing).
I don't want to speak about acting. Tilda Swinton is an outstanding actress, but a total waste here (she was great in "Constantine").I don't remember the rest of the staff (was there any?).
But what is the message of this movie? If you are on the "right" side of a war, then you win and you get back from death? Should this movies prepare our children's for the next "good" war? I didn't read the book, what I saw on the screen was a simple plot.
I like cruel movies when the cruelty is shown as what it is: cruel, heartless, merciless. But this should be a movie for kids, or am I wrong? Will they think war is a good thing, OR that a war always leaves two loosing parties (except the people who sell weapons)?
