Fast Five (2011)
Best Of The Series?
Fast and Furious 5/Fast Five is, believe it or not, arguably the best in the series. Despite the often awful dialogue occasionally rubbish acting and non existent plot, it easily contains the best action and has the most exciting scenes of the series. The Film also contains a scene where Vin Diesel has an incredible fight with Dwayne Johnson, that alone is worth the price of admission. It also brings back some familiar faces from the previous films including, Han, Tej, Vince and Roman Pierce, played by Tyrese Gibson who has some of the best/worst dialogue in the film, but is just as funny as he was in "2 fast 2 furious". If you didn't enjoy the previous films in the series then stay well away from "Fast Five", but if you have enjoyed them, then buckle your seat belt your in for the best ride of the series to date.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
A Mind Blowing, Mesmerising, Mountain Of A Film!
I have seen every Tarantino film and loved them, i loved reservoir dogs, i loved pulp fiction, i loved inglorious etc etc. so my expectations were high for this film and let me just say it i was not disappointed!
The style of the film is outstanding and the action is wonderful, its true this is probably Tarantino's least dialogue driven film. But don't forget this film was going to be released along with kill bill vol.2 but then split up. But when he does get the opportunity for some great dialogue he uses it.
The soundtrack for this film suits it so well, the scene where the bride visits Hatori Hanzo in Okinawa to get some "japenese steel" and goes into the loft and all the swords are on racks on the walls, its indescribable.
I had never seen any anime films/TV shows before i saw this (the closest i had seen was Linkin Park's video for "breaking the habit") but after seeing O-Ren's anime i am tempted to go buy some all out anime films, yes i enjoyed it that much!
So to cap it all off this is a mountain of a film which i cannot recommend enough. so sit back and relax to a very different style of film making that you are probably not used to seeing!
Pulp Fiction (1994)
The Best Film You Will Ever See!
As you can probably see from my title i like this film a lot! The casting is brilliant: Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken and even Steve Buscemi makes a cameo as Buddy Holly.
The writing is extraordinary the imagination, time, planning, blood, sweat and tears that must have gone into writing it left me speechless.
The occasional"comedy" moment in this film always lightens the mood after a violent disturbing scene.
Samuel L Jackson & John Travolta go together so well in this I'm surprised Tarantino hasn't thought of making a separate film with these two starring.
This film is by far the greatest film I've seen so far in my life and i can't see Tarantino ever beating it, or in fact any other director beating it!
So to cap it all off if you haven't seen this film yet you must you haven't lived until you have!
Death Proof (2007)
Tarantinos worst by miles!
After watching reservoir dogs, pulp fiction and inglorious and loving them i had very high expectations for this film. I was so disappointed, this film was pointless and silly. Its really slow to begin with and seems like its building up to big finish and it doesn't have one! Tarantino seems to run out of witty dialogue and the two sets of girls spend 80% talking about what boys they slept with recently! Dialogue was Tarantino's speciality but this, its just awful! Thankfully there is some comfort with the car chase at the end even if it makes no sense how a supposedly "Death Proof" with a stunt man driver gets shot in the arm by three girls then out matched with driving skills. Some people who watch this film will think of it higher than what i have done and i can see why. But don't EVER think it will ever be as good as Tarantino's first two films!
