Brilliant, demented and sexy!

The show is even weirder than the trailer. Why all the trailers in IMDb are in a different size and shape?

Some of the interviews conducted under the "Est" treatment are really ruthless.

We see the patients/contestants cracking up. Some contestants are very nearly ready to die.

I've only seen two seasons of the show. How many will leave the show?

I have seen 31 contestants so far.

How many patients will have their brain removed after that?

How many will become completely controlled? That's the thing that I don't get. What happens to the contestants who win this experiment? The ones that have stayed a whole month in the dark? Where do they go after that?

It's not in the show.

When will all the 4 seasons be released?

I have seen "The Complete Map of the Universe" after "Est". It's the film version. It's OK but it's either like a documentary of it, or a very soft and toned down version.

Genius!
29 June 2009
I have seen that film in a cinema when I was in Paris on vacation, part of a festival screening, a long time ago.

It's one of Nick Peterson's first films. It is not a short film as shown in there it was over an hour, but it goes very quickly.

It is not the most mainstream of his films but it's very funny in parts.

The film has subtitles in English. The film is sort of in French but most of the dialogues in French don't make sense even to a French audience.

The subtitles refer to what the main character, a guy from London who went to see a play in Paris is thinking about the play.

It's so meticulously crafted and it ends, when the cast on the play bows before the final curtain .

Powerful!

No wonder the BBC was terrified by this documentary.

It renders their all classic formula redundant.

There is debate and dialogue all the way through.

No boring endless views of lost trees or lampposts.

It is a portray and as such a powerful one.

Most of the players debate the issues as they are introduced by the narrator.

The people interviewed are all the main players in the region.

The people in the oil region of Nigeria live in a state of constant civil war.

This is one of the richest regions in the world.

Powerful!

more than like Big Brother
23 January 2009
It's actually more than like Big Brother. It was like in a sect. The difference is that cameras are everywhere.

All the contestants have to live in the dark for a period of one month. They are virtually prisoners.

In fact, to add to the reality of it the director never informed the actors that the actual filming would be done in the dark.

This caused a lot of problem.

After a day of filming in the dark, one of the actors went completely mad and smashed a camera.

He refused to go on and left the set.

Soon after his lawyers threatened to sue if they didn't remove him.

I wonder who it was. Anyone knows?

They had to remove another actress who was shot in the nude, in the toilets and in the bathroom having a shower.

She had second thoughts about the whole project.

It deals with light reflected through our subconscious.

I'm not exactly sure what it was all about.

It's different from most films and the actors are so great.

The concept is amazing. It deals with light reflected through our subconscious.

What we see may not be what is actually happening. A lot of things are happening during an entire night.

There is a demented guy that has lived on a deserted island for too long. He lives in a warehouse.

He meets two young teens and held them at gun point. The story is sort of clear but I'm not sure I can say what it is.

Can anyone explain it to me?

I love the film because of the acting, the music and the settings. I have to say that the scene on the floor is really hot!

Fantastic!
22 January 2009
This film is truly fantastic!

I'm in love with the lead actor Mark Joseph.

It's like a whole film underwater.

A documentary at the bottom of the ocean but with the actor underwater breathing under the sea.

We can hear his thoughts.

I don't agree with the comment that some of it is boring since he doesn't speak through all of the minutes.

For the sixty minutes underwater I think it's quiet nice to see the fish, shark and hear the delirious music.

Too much dialogue would have been annoying.

Not many stories can have such a dual exchange with the same actor playing his ego.

That actor is tremendous.

I did like the girl at the beginning and the end.

It's unreal.

She has a different conversation with someone else on the phone whilst the lead character has a conversation with his ego at the same time.

That is so clever!
