While I always have lists for the good films and some other truly memorable movies every year, the hugely disproportionate ratio tilted towards the mediocre to the downright deplorable films annually, has urged me to compile this list of of bad movies from the year, 2013. Monumental disasters in most of the departments of filmmaking, these films failed to provide even something remotely resembling mild entertainment (let's not even get into their technical aspects).

Every year we predict certain turkeys of films, because they simply stink in all departments right from the day they are conceived on the drawing board. But there's no more an exhilarating felling, than when these type of films shockingly end up being really good. While some just about make the cut, few others, and very few others might ultimately achieve cult-classic status too. So I hope this list will be informative to you'll, and yes, adulation & criticism are both appreciated, so please, keep your views coming.

If I have four or more movies of an actor, which I consider classics & on my all time favourites list; & if I keep viewing those movies again because of the actor, besides the direction, plot & technical aspects; & also if I anticipate a particular actor's movies irrespective of his recent works' critical or commercial acclaim, then that actor to me is one of my all time favoutites. In my view, this makes him a brilliant actor plus a superstar, hence the unique title of my list.

I know I've left out many other all time greats which may have made other peoples' list. So a worthy mention for these artists is also in order: Laurince Oliver, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Cary Grant, James Stewart, John Wayne, Mel Gibson, Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers, Peter O'Toole, Heath Ledger, Greogry Peck, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Sanjeev Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Guru Dutt, Pran, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Michael Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Takashi Shimura, Takashi Kitano, Marcello Mastroianni, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Humphrey Bogart, Rock Hudson & maybe some others who are just not coming to mind as of this moment.

But this is my list & I'm backing up every actor on this list with ample evidence of his classic movies & legendary performances, so here goes:

'Hollywood', the world's biggest and greatest movie industry has come under a lot of criticism of late for making a lot of glossy and expensive albeit non-sensical movies. But there are still some great directors around like 'Martin Scorsese', 'Quentin Tarantino', 'Steven Speilberg', 'Clint Eastwood', the 'Coen Brothers' and some others who constantly churn out the classics. While I agree in the latest popular adage: 'They don't make them like they used to', there are still some some movies along with these directors' works which provide us with that rare, quality entertanment (especially check out the year 2006).
Since we've traversed 10 years of the new millineum I felt that the time is right to compile a list of the very best of the new millineum till now.

Some of those lovable, absurd, over-the-top, non-nonsensical movies, which are actually filled with so much silly fun and no-hold-barred fun, that they end up being quite entertaining to watch. A salute to those movies of the year that live up to that age old cliche - "It's so bad that it's actually good!"

A rare brand of cinema which effortlessly encompasses witty, dark and occassional hilarious humour with underlying socially and politically relevant messages throughout, without being too preachy. These movies often have 1 or 2 memorable characters with beautiful and crisp storylines. There aren't much of them, so savour the very best of this rare and unusual breed.

While I always have lists for the good & best movies every year, the hugely disproportional ratio tilted towards the mediocre to the downright deplorable films annually, has urged me to compile this list of movies which I & many others would have high or relatively decent expectations for, but just failed miserably to even provide some mild entertainment (lets not even get into the other aspects of filmmaking).

a list of 100 titles
I have around 350 to 400 movies in my classics' list, which are my favourite movies of all time. This list includes movies from all around the world, which I can view multiple times with the same enthusiasm, each time learning something new.

But how many times can one view a movie continuously, without getting bored. Perhaps once a month or if the film's a bit heavy, then once in two months, in order to avoid monotony & repetitiveness to creep into the experience of enjoying one your favourite films. Right...! Absolutely wrong!

Even from my list of about 400 favourite movies, I've segregated the top 100 movies - lets say they're the best of the best - which I can watch twice or thrice a month...seriously...in a month..., without even the slightest drop in excitement & just be in greater awe of that particular movie, every time I watch it.

So without further adieu & without any disrespect to the rest of my favourite movies, or all the other cherished movies of every other film buff, I've painstakingly & with a heavy heart narrowed this list down to 'My 100 Most Loved Movies Of All Time':

The movies which I love watching again and again are the ones which always make my favourites list. While I swear by the The 'IMDb Top 250 Movies' List', there are in my humble opinion, some movies which are highly overrated and are solely present on that list due to their hype. Like in all my other lists and reviews, I'll again emphasise on the term - 'Quality Entertainment', i.e., a taut script, great direction, memorable performances, some classic scenes and dialogues, and a great background score, or at least most of these ingredients, whie entertaining simultaneously (prime example - 'The Godfather'). If dud entertainers are repulsive, then, overrated classics are downright exasperating, atrocious, mostly self-indulgent and definitely the most opportune flukes.
Below is a compilation of the movies which either should never have made it or shuld have been booted out of this prestiguous list of IMDb eons ago (while some of my choices are subjective, I'm sure many out there will agree with most of my choices, or at least discreetely concur):

Every year a handful of new shows come along, which initiate as something promising or just as complete surprises, but keep us hooked every week, & metamorphoses us into loyal patrons for years to come, while securing a place in the archives classic TV themselves. Well, 2011 had quite a myriad of these A-list shows, providing quality entertainment.

While I swear by the 'IMDb Top 250 Movies' List, & though I've unearthed most of the classics & my all time favourite movies from it, there are some movies which are long overdue & definitely merit a spot on this list in place of some not so deserving movies. Below are the 30 best movies among the top contenders for a permanent position on this list:
