The Stepford Wives (2004)
Will somebody please pay the light bill...?!
Other viewers have already covered most if not all aspects of the pathetic quality of the writing, casting, directing, acting and lack of any sense of continuity represented by this so-called film (which I rented on video at full price as a "New Release"), but my comments (also deservedly negative) are pointed at the absolutely abysmal quality of the color transfer, the sound and the lighting, most of which for outdoors sets resembled gloomy days in Hell, while the indoor sets reminded me of what I've heard about the nature of FBI interrogation rooms: Darkness, darkness!! A similar result occurred recently when I tried to view "Van Helsing," another "New Release" from Hollywood, which seems intent on keeping its audiences in the dark, which is an atmosphere much condusive to the picking of pockets....
If you want your money's worth of highly enjoyable viewing, avoid this abortion and rent the original.
Finally, I suggest that IMDb seriously consider offering the voters the option of "0." "1" is far too high for an increasing number of Hollywood productions. Makes one wonder where the money's going!
