I Cesaroni (2006–2014)

Great remake!

Being Spanish and a regular follower of the TV series Los Serrano who speaks Italian I was interested in having a taste of I Cesaroni since the first time I read about it in Sorrisi e Canzoni.

After some episodes watched I can say the producers of the remake have done a great work. The stories are adapted to Italian culture with minimum changes, as Italy & Spain, both being eurolatin countries are very similar in their idiosincrasy. I.e.: in the original he's from Madrid and she's from Barcelona, in the new version he's from Rome and she's from Milano. A perfect equivalent.

The cast is PERFECT, as they are perfect clones of the original cast, except for the friend of Marco, and Eva, who is a lot more cute in the Italian version. Rudy and the brother of Claudio Amendola in the series (I forgot his name) are amazingly identical to their Spanish counterparts.

I recommend this series to everyone (who speaks Italian) and want to enjoy some good and fun TV moments. And the same for Los Serrano.

Oh, a big bravo to Claudio Amendola, the main reason I started to see this series, as I'm a fan of his work in the Monnezza remake, Sottovento or I Mitici.

One of the bests from De Sica-Boldi

I'm Spanish and thanks god I speak Italian, so I can enjoy these great comedies from the duo Christian De Sica-Massimo Boldi. This is one of my favorites. The comedy is absolutely absurd & hilarious and the pace is frantic. Cindy Crawford does an extended cameo in the last part of the film, but the main running jokes are very good. It's an slick movie made with a big budget, and I recommend it for all lovers of Italian comedies. Forget about the previous comments. In Italy there are a lot of local movies haters (as in every country in the world) so these opinions are not really very useful. This film made a lot of money in box office. Search for the DVD, and if you don't speak Italian, start learning...if not, nothing will make sense to you...

A sad goodbye

This is the last work by the greatest Spanish film director Mariano Ozores. After working in the successful TV series Taller Mecanico for public station TVE he completed this one, but TVE found the story lines way too much for TV and declined to air the series. Another station, Antena 3 purchased the series, after a hard reworking by Ozores, re-dubbing the episodes and removing the controversial subjects. In origin the series was just a funny attempt to recreate the mild sexual humor (PG rated) from his, now too naive films. After the several alterations, the series remained unwatchable, and thus was a deep failure. And his last work.

It has laughs, drama, great characters and it's also a family movie (except for two top less scenes, way too innocent watched today). Must be released in DVD right now. Worldwide.

The movie features a lot of comedians from the 80's and some cameos, like the one by Fernando Esteso.

The story has Andres Pajares working overtime to pay the bills for his daughter' school, who thinks he's a big man, making international business and chatting with his majesty the king every week. The truth is way too different from reality, but he will try that the little girl never be aware of it. Attention to the now TV star Maria Adanez as the friend of the daughter of Pajares.
