Rogue One (2016)
Best ending I ever seen in a movie!
This movie is great for any Star Wars fans. Even tho its from a different perspective of characters, we are still very close with A New Hope, in term of time and environment. The story line has nothing amazing but the acting is excellent and is not overacted like episode VII. The ending is beautiful done and far from cliché. I won't spoil it but this is what you will remember the most in that movie. The pro: acting, special effect (not over the top as episode I, II and III) cinematography The con: script doesn't develop the character enough, soundtrack (they kept tracks from the original Star Wars but added new one that sound weird)
About Time (2013)
about time it finished
I was invited for a screening today and mostly went because Rachel Mcadams is Beautiful. Well firstly I'm not into British Movie and this one didn't help to change my mind.
The script was the problem really. The dialogue are really good but the story is not proportional. First it's a love story about a guy who find his love, then you have to forget about it and focus only on the dad and then once you think it s finally going to be over you realise that it's actually going to be a lifetime story of a man, rushed near the end. The girlfriend (Rachel McAdams) is kind of the heart of the movie in the first part, then she's nonexistent in the second half. Why so much built up in a character to just not use it later? She literally sleep in all her scenes. All the part with the dad is quite good, thank to a very good acting from Bill Nighy (the dad).
The main actor is not likable as well, unless you fancy skinny ginger hair. The non nice looking guy who got only the hot girls... I m sorry, was I watching an American movie? No.
The idea had a very good potential but I guess the screenwriter got a bit too existed in the message he tried to delivered.
So my 5 is only for the dialogues and Bill Nighy.
So go see this movie if you like Bill Nighy because he's really worth it in it, otherwise don't bother, just wait it air on ITV with the weather and news in the middle of the film.
The Back-up Plan (2010)
You can skip this one!
Bad over acting. bad script. Don t even buy it on DVD just wait that it goes on TV. Girls in real live you will never find a guy who will be willing to be the father of your kids after just a week. So then it's really hard to get into that cliché movie.
Scene that we saw over and over again: She does a monologue in front of a mirror trying different mood. the best friend giving her useless advices. lame teenager flirting. THE PHONE RINGs when they almost going to kiss the first time. quote "The future is now, right?" And so on...
by the way the main guy has the same voice than Nicola cage !! so funny lol
Dear John (2010)
Just another ordinary love story...
The script: Basic storyline, predictable scene. Could have been much better but rush for some scene. The beginning is very boring. The flirting is so lame like two 14 years old kids flirting each other. The relation with the dad make the story a bit more interesting even better than that the relation with the two main characters. the few last scene with Tim Wheddon was too much, seem to be there just to fill up the blank. The end is awful, it lost one star just because of it.
The acting: Channing Tatum was definitely not the good choice. over acting kill the acting. Tho he seemed to be more into the character through the end. His dialogues from the script didn't help him.
Amanda Seyfried was all right. Sadly no chemistry between the two characters.
Richard Jenkins was just excellent playing an autism. Very lovable character. I gave two more stars just for his scene.
Henry Thomas was fine.
Watching this movie is not a waste of time. but it won't be one of your favourite.
