The Book of Eli (2010)
You Can Watch This With An Open Mind or Be Offended.
I'm neither an atheist or a believer. In my mind, I believe God will only help those who help themselves. That's why I don't pray. I don't believe in saying thanks to God, I rather say thanks to my parents.
Anyway, back to my movie review. Fortunately, I managed to watch this movie. I love denzel washington & gary oldman, and as much as a good actor these 2 guys are, very rare to see their talents used to the maximum capacity. But of course, I want to say one thing only.
If you want to watch this movie, watch it with an open mind. There's a religious message in this movie, but in my opinion, it is possible to happen whatever happen to denzel in this movie.
Seriously, if an apocalypse did really happen, hell will break all loose and people will tend to fall to their animalistic character and succumb to their basic needs. So when that happens, it's hard to enforce any civil action unless there's a clear present of a central government. And until that happens, religion could be the first point where morality and civility can be induced.
That's all I gotta say.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
The Number 1 Movie of All Time - 'The Breakfast Club'
Ratings : 10/10 stars There's this movie which i would gladly concur as the best movie of all time in my list. This movie is entitled 'The Breakfast Club'. I had the chance to stumble on this movie on a hallmark channel, and I was astounded on how perfect this movie is. The storyline, the characters and most importantly the script or dialogue that was perfectly written to make this a great movie.
This movie is basically, about 5 people who comes from different cliché' in school. One is a criminal, another is a sporty-kid, the other is a basketcase, one is a miss popular and the last is the brain. The story line goes where these 5 people who spend detention on a Saturday. That is it, the simplicity of the story goes as simple as that. 5 people in the library spending detention on a Saturday.
So here it gets really really interesting, amidst all their differences, they start learning about each other, bit by bit and becoming friends on that single day. Who can't relate to this movie? I believe every single person could relate to this movie because of almost everyone been to school before.
My words won't be enough to describe this great movie. However, I never get bored watching this from time to time because the feelings and expressions that these people make, all leads to one thing. Their parents.
Hope you guys will watch this movie.
Survival of the Dead (2009)
I haven't Watch This But Some Of My 2 Cents.
I have always loved zombie movies, and recently we didn't see any new zombie movies but i'm not sure whether this will be good or bad. I am just not sure.
But I just want to say that all zombie movie rocks. Because it puts us in a situation where we need to choose to be selfish or helpful. It test our survival instinct.
George Romero is a great director, and since he makes movies mostly of out zombie's theme, it's understandable that new ideas or new story line is very hard to make. But does repetitive storyline makes a bad movie? I don't think so.
Look at the remake of Dawn of the Dead, this is one of the remakes that really worth mentioning. It wasn't disappointing at all and I hope this won't be too.
Whatever it is, zombie movies ROCKS!
Running Scared (2006)
Just Because It Full Of Action, Nudity and Language Doesn Always Necessarily Mean It's Good.
I'm not an American per se. But whenever I watch these kind of movies, I really wondered, is America really full of the ghetto and gangsters type of people.
From the movie point of view, the little child is taken from one bad seed of people to another, and there's was not a single scene where there's a hope of salvation for the environment.
So far, if you are looking for an action and a no brainer show, this could be it but when you watch the movie, I believe you will sense a lot of losses in it. Can't help but to feel that this movie is wrong.
And what bothers me in this movie is when, the son purportedly said to his father : "I've seen mummy naked, It's no big deal".
I was like wtf was the screenwriter were thinking. Even if you see your own mum naked, I don't really think you said something like this to your dad. This part really gives me the goosebumps.
Overall, I give the movie a 4 and the storyline is just so-so.
They Make You Think That There Are Zombies, But There Are None
I have to say that this movie gave me a good impression for the first time after I watched the trailer, but we all know that trailer can be made good even though it is a bad movie.
This movie is not actually that bad but just that there are too many loopholes to begin with. It could be good if it were executed properly but just that there were many mistakes and oxymoron lines/scenes which make the viewers think twice every 5 minutes.
A few loopholes : 1. What is the background story behind the pandemic? 2. The pandemic or virus was shown to be very infectious, but at times, those characters were in close contact with the infected, sometimes they are vigilant and sometimes they are not. 3. The pandemic or virus infection portrayal isn't convincing enough 4.The bad choosing of actors and characters. Sometimes, i don't know why Hollywood have to choose a bad boy to annoy viewers. Whats with the bad boy crap? 5. If you were in the midst of extreme pandemic situation, who the f would drop in a golf course and play a round or two? I was like wtf..
There are many other loopholes and disappointments in the film. It's actually watchable but don't get your hopes high as there are no zombies to fight with.
If it were executed properly, the movie could have been better.
Too bad it didn't... 3/10 stars
