Flowers in the Attic (2014)
"Children are very wise intuitively; they know who loves them most, and who only pretends."
I am ashamed to say that until I saw this movie, I had no idea about the existence of the book.I didn't even know the plot of the movie, but that was the best part because it was full of unpredictable moments that only made me more curious and fascinated. It's a strange idea that shows us how cruel can people be, even though they act so innocent and how sometimes the one that wants to hurt you is right there in your family. The actors were OK.Not the best, but not the worst either : the one who played the grandmother acted the best, while Heather Graham wasn't exactly a good choice for her part. It's worth watching it for its intriguing story.I know it made me go and buy the books.
The Nanny (1993)
My kind of nanny
I was just a kid when this show aired and it was extremely popular.Fran Fine was the unconventional nanny that everybody wished for.At least,I know I did. As a kid, I loved this show because it was about family first of all, it was very funny and also a delight to see a colorful dressed nanny with an amusing voice. When I rewatch it now I realise that the jokes on this sitcom never get old because they are still very clever. My favorite parts were when Fran would get into trouble ( and that happened a lot! ) and Mr.Sheffield would chase her all through the house, yelling " Miss Fine !!". The butler was one of the best characters in the show, because he knew everything that happened in the house and always made fun of Mr.Sheffield's business partner C.C. Put this all together and add three cute kids and Fran's funny family and it's a success. The best part of it was that you could watch it with the entire family, because they had situations for every age.All I know is that I wish they would still do shows like this one.
The ending : the realistic view of a fairytale
I stopped watching this show at the middle of season 9, because I thought that it lost its potential and it wasn't that much fun anymore. And yet, a few mediocre episodes are not enough to make me not liking it anymore, because i always will.I was obviously not going to miss the ending of one of the shows that will always be close to my heart. Everyone was very upset about how things ended and even though it wasn't exactly the ending I wanted,I must say I didn't dislike it either because i understood something. The connection between Ted and Robin was like a boomerang. No matter what, they were going to end up together.I never liked Robin as a character, because she was messing with Ted and Barney.Did I wanted her to end up with Ted?Of course not.The truth of the matter is that everyone out there has a "Robin".Someone that simply won't settle for a normal life and will always get you into trouble, but you just can't let that person go and you cannever forget her.Like it or not,Ted and Robin had a story, a bound that was unconventional but it was there to stay. So,Ted had the family he always wanted with the kind of woman he wished all that time.It ended not being about the mother, but about Robin. The point of the story was to make his kids understand that he loved both their mother and Robin, just differently. He had true love with the mother and we all know that. But you see, when she died his heart turned to Robin because she was familiar to him, he always had a thing for her and a place in his heart.SAfter the death of his wife,he waited 6 years to go for Robin and even asked his kids for permission. It might not be the way fans wanted this show to end but it is very realistic.
Royal teenage drama
There is always that one show that focuses on the drama of some rich teenagers that act like grown ups and get into all sorts of trouble.Well, this time "Reign" seems to be the one.And of course, it comes with a twist : it is set in the 16th century and is somehow based on the life of queen Mary of Scots. Sure, as you already guessed is not historically accurate but this is really not the point, because it's with teenagers for crying out loud. Those who watch it don't expect to learn some history out of it and if they like the show enough people at least will google about it and will learn what really happened. It has everything : beautiful actors, great costumes,a lot of intrigues and even though they're not the best actors, their acting is good enough for this show. It's mainly like a fairytale gone bad and it can be pueril from time to time, but it's still great to watch.
I started watching this show because i was very bored.I did not have any high expectations, but it really surprised me.Sure,it doesn't always have a good moral, but people shouldn't freak out that much because of all the cheating in the show. It's just a TV series showing all kinds of dramatic situation that happen to women with different personalities and lifestyles. The series only shows that there are times when people make mistakes and feel weak. It's not an invitation to go and cheat on your partner or do any other immoral things.
It's fun to watch it, because the actresses are nice and their characters have interesting stories. It's got some drama, but it's not that intense. They still relax and have a good time, making you feel better too.
Don't, just don't go.
As much as I like Game of thrones star Kit Harington, I had the feeling he wasn't exactly appropriate as main character in a movie. The story is very predictable, but that wouldn't have necessarly been a problem if it was well made. The first part of the movie is very slow, but suddenly towards the end there's a lot going on.The main character doesn't speak much and if he does he's not very convincing.Plus, between him and the main female character there is no chemistry. The funny thing was that the other gladiator has a funny accent, kind of like Jamaican. It could've been a great movie, because the story line was pretty interesting, but that's a missed opportunity.
