Annabelle:Really?
3 September 2017
First, I think our local movie theater should offer their own credit card. You pretty much need one if you plan on seeing a movie and heaven forbid you want a popcorn or a drink.

Back to the movie, the title of the movie should have been Annabelle:Really? instead of Annabelle:Creation. I haven't seen a jump the shark moment in a movie in some time, but there is a big one in this movie. Also, a little girl leaving the theater told her Dad "Why did people yell? There was nothing scary in the movie." That about sums it up.

Thought it was OK

It's not a masterpiece by any means, and I probably won't watch it many more times, but I enjoyed the movie. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The snowy outdoors areas they were in were creepy and in a way are more creepy than the woods. The writing and pacing needs work. The Frankenstein Theory feels like a ghostly image of a really good movie when you watch it... parts of the movie are good, some under-baked, some forgettable, and the movie itself feels like a ghostly image. You can see how good it potentially could be. I don't really disagree with the other reviewers that pan the movie or the ones that like it. If you are amenable to movies where a group of people are out on their own (like this movie and Blair Witch Project), then you'll probably be more receptive.

Do the characters ever SHUT UP?
16 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The one flaw in the movie, to me, that is most annoying is that the characters have no idea when to be quiet. Dogs around? Let's talk out loud. Creepy creatures around? Again, let's talk out loud and make noise so they'll know where we are. Walk on a dark road after the sun goes down? Once again, let's talk out loud.

The only storyline flaw that bothered me was this: after spending the night in the small van? Why didn't the people take off at the break of dawn and head to the gate where the soldiers were? The characters sat in the bus the entire morning (apparently) doing nothing but talk.

I can't wait for this to come out on DVD/Bluray so I can re-edit a few scenes and change the volume level so the characters are quiet when they should be.
