Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
worst ending possible
had a lot betting on this film, researched about it, and had my hopes that would be one of the greatest... saw it on the premiere and then.. well i'm a dude that doesn't analyze the movie at the core, but this ending, man.. it ruined the rest of the experience. To ruin such a great idea. A technical genius who is somehow able to commit revenge murders from his jail cell. He doesn't hide the fact he's a killer; in fact he announces each murder just before it happens.
Technically everything was possible and the method very cleverly hidden so I was kept in suspense until the last 20 minutes when the cat was let out of the bag too early. The ending is the worst in a big production movie so far. Trowly technically improbable, illogical, and in my opinion it spoils all the character development made until that point and wastes the opportunity for a much darker ending with a more satisfying outcome.
my girlfriend like the ending, but i decided never again re-watch this one.
bad performances, bad story, bad acting, terrible script. man.. i love Edward Norton but this year he sucked.. Deniro is completely out, i mean forget him, better life producing, restaurant business or whatever he does with is well worth money. Mila proved that she's good only for makeup commercials, i mean what's the big idea?? showing her having sex?? that is the only innovation to the film history. i could not find one good element in the film worthwhile to celebrate, and when everyone think that everything is invented some genius reminds us that we can still shoot garbage... will never see this film again, if it shows on TV i promise that will change channel. films related metaphysical aspect??? if you see garbage for more than 4 years in a row you start thinking garbage.. God! the turnovers were simplistic, the ending (on the contrary to what Mr Norton publicized on a national late night show) didn't had any spin (that single statement made watch the film to the end expecting something that never appear) and to think that this film had anything related to magnolia is to say that their both film with a beginning, a story and a end.. sorry my bad, this piece of garbage, this not worthwhile lost of moment of my life doesn't even have a decent ending to call end..
watching Australian movies make me fall asleep at the cinema
Hello everyone IT'S MY FIST COMMENT!!
And for my first commenting piece at a film, I have chosen Australia, a film that grabbed after 10 seconds, kept me with eyes wide open for an hour an half and the let me free for a whole dull hour... Actually, for one hour and half.
Cherished the beginning, respected the narration style, Nullah was lovely with his Native American vs. British style, the film had comedy and a genuine flavor. Saw it as the real Aussie blockbuster, finally one!
After the mediocre scene by King George singing for water, they could say so many things more about the culture of all the habitants of Australia and the film simply collapses!!
Editing at this time took for me a whole new level, ZERO!!!!!!!!!
I started seeing the film at 00h30, by 02h00 almost went to sleep! It was this simple fact that Drove me (how about this literary style..) to write this comment!! I never go to sleep watching a movie, especially in a cinema theatre!! actually the last time I went to sleep, was watching Crocodile Dundee II, but I have to say that I was born in 1981, so it's understandable after all, i was only 8years old.. It was the first time I saw a non-cartoon movie at the cinema and my first time seeing a movie at night, but still..
Have to say, that watching Australian movies make me fall asleep at the cinema, coincidence?? Not at all..
So what would be my actions if I was the "big money" behind Australia?? First I would say Profanity, obscenities, or spiteful remarks to every member of this film for allowing this spoiling of money, then I would simply cut the last hour because it simply doesn't add nothing new to the feeling of the spectator. Kidman stereotype of learning to love the kid to the extreme was believable, Jackman character teaching her to love was great and then they emerge at absolutes so that they can reach the same level of love for a great kid!! everything else was Pearl Harbor with ascents.. Gave a 7 just cause of Nullah, he reminded me of Yakari and for the comedy, nothing else.
