Under the Skin (2013)
Under the Skin
Give me a BREAK!!! What a strange movie. Great filming. That is why it won the award that it did. But the plot and theme, Common. The story was long, boring and dry. Being a sifi person, I was really looking forward to something a bit different. I got it here. What a weird ending. A man on a motorcycle chasing and Black tar woman. This would have been really funny except it was to weird. I watch a great deal of British films and other foreign films as well. Although many of them are different from a lot of American films, still for the most part they are pretty good films. Unfortunately, the only thing I got from this movie was to not get involve with strange beautiful women.
The 100 (2014)
Give the show a break
Hey, lets give this new show a break. OK, a bunch of teens trying to survive. Lord of the Flies and Roswell come to my mind. There is much room for improvement here. But I feel given time it can develop in a show the can run for about three seasons. The writing has to get better. However, the youthfulness of this show should be maintained. Because it appeals to a certain generation. The actors are OK. Their young and there new. They do play their parts. Now, we can only speculate what can happen if we really had to live on a spaceship for an extended period of time. Also, someone has to go down to the new planet to find out if we can survive. So who do you send? The youngest seem to always go to war. So. Why not to colonize a new world. Earth has become a new world in this series. I say keep trying.
The Karate Kid (2010)
I lived in Japan as young black kid.
I found this movie to be very down to home. If you have ever lived abroad as a kid, at times it can be very scary. To be lonely and isolated in a strange country when cannot speak the language is a fearful thing. Although his mom loved him, she should have prepared him. But he did find a friend and a mentor. They accepted him. I felt this movie should be shone to kids no matter where you move too. Kids should know that no matter where you live, there will always be someone there to challenge you and you must learn to deal with it. Courage, strength, perseverance, and love is what this movie is about. Integrating some of the original movie scenes, this new movie has a certain unique and dramatic flair. I recommend this move to all young people.
