I was a fan of the show. I loved it, but the movie is just total garbage. I almost fell asleep twice. Every single episode is better than everything they combined to put in this film. You know the feeling when you know exactly what is going to happen and it happens? Well, that's exactly what I got from Entourage the Movie. The score this movie got here is the best example how irrelevant and fake IMDb has become... or how corrupt the scoring system is. You can pick the version of the truth you like the most, still it won't change the fact. If you still haven't seen this movie, just wait for it on the TV. Don't waste your money. One of my favorite shows, one of the most boring movies I have ever seen.
Got to see the end to love it.
As I got to 30 minutes into it, I thought I'll hate this movie. The beginning and the middle are cliché but the ending is a surprising twist even though a lot of the stuff is "borrowed". If you are a fan of sci-fi you will recognize certain ideas and scenes from older hit movies-series, but I guess it was all intentional with a goal to bring these to younger audiences. About the ending, I must say I didn't see that coming and at first it made me angry but then I recognized a character at the end and it all got clear. It had the perfect ending that made this movie unique. As I look back I realize the movie makers actually had the intention of mixing up a classic teenage horror with the classic sci-fi - conspiracy theory genre. I do recommend this film if you are into the genres I mentioned earlier.
The Final Destination (2009)
This is so bad, I could't believe it!
I saw this movie yesterday, and I have to clear it out for the filmmakers: "I don't care about the 3D stuff! The movie is bad!"
This was worse then Alien vs Predator 2. The actors were awful, well not all of them! Shantel VanSanten was terrible, so bad I felt like I was watching a B grade porno. That's right, you see better actresses in adult movies nowadays.
The main reason I gave 1 star to this movie is cos I was looking forward viewing it, and I can honestly say it's not worth the money, hell it's not even worth the bandwidth you'd spend downloading it.
Hollywood, as we know it is dieing ladies and gentleman. Is it because of the rich spoiled children that must get roles in stupid movies made by rich stupid movie makers, I don't know, but it sure feels like it.
Thank god there are a few great people that can bring Hollywood back the old fame, otherwise it would be like Chuck D said: "Burn Hollywood burn I smell a riot going' on ...."
Well... could be better but it just had to be Hollywood!!!
My comment won't contain much of a spoiler but I warned you anyways just so you know.
I recently saw this film, it's not as bad as some say. It's great. I only had a problem with the ending cos they did it Hollywood style and it ruined it a little, but I think people will enjoy this movie the second and the third time because it's phenomenal and the cgi is fantastic.
The story is OK, the actors are great, everything is perfect except the part of the story that some governments would ask for 1 billion euros for saving old ugly people instead of filling the arks with fertile young healthy smart people who could save the human race?!? The money is no good after the apocalypse. And since all the governments know it's the end of the world, why would they charge anything? It's lame!
I know there's a lot of rich people but I doubt that 2000 people could pay a billion euros each?! If this is possible then those people should be taxed correctly and we'd be out of the economic crisis in a second. In fact, I doubt that this amount of euros exists globally. Now don't come to me that it's dirty money cos that would make even more stupid than it is.
Why would governments build ships that can collide when the tsunami comes if they could just build submarines so the 'take off' could go without a risk?!?!
So the movie is filled with mistakes, but there is one that was just ridiculous, and since I read most of the comments on IMDb I have to quote one brilliant: '380: While a plane is moving down a runway, your family (in the plane) can see your small little hands coming up out of a crater.'
Now that you know what I'm talking about, go watch this film despite all the mistakes they made while filming it. I know I'll see it again because I like the destruction in it. It's Hollywood, and it's just like it's meat to be.
Wow, and I was pessimistic about this?!?!?
Let me say something first. I read a bunch of reviews and I started out really pessimistic about this movie by looking for flaws etc. If somebody can honestly say he did not get a bunch of money for writing a bad review about this movie and is a sci-fi fan he is either lying or totally insane.
I think this movie isn't only sci-fi, I think it's more of a horror but I loved it just for what it became eventually. The claustrophobic atmosphere in the movie adds to the excitement and lets not speak about the 'things'. Well, the 'things' were some of my favorite creepy beings lately.
I'm not going to spoil it for you. If you like real sci-fi movies you got to see this and you will love it, however if you're not into this genre or you didn't like Aliens etc. don't bother.
If you decide to watch this film, be sure to pay close attention to the details so it can pull you into the story. I don't think this movie can be watched and enjoyed with 3 drunk friends.
The ending is great, and I didn't expect that, so go for it.
Stag Night (2008)
Oldschool, but new!
I seriously don't know why people didn't like this movie that much. I have seen a bunch of these new horror movies and I can honestly say that 90% of them isn't even worth mentioning. However this flick caught me from the first frame!
If you pay attention, you can notice that this movie has some old school intro music. I loved that it reminded me of the good old horror movies in the 80's when people actually took the time to score some tunes for the movie like in Halloween and Precinct 13 etc. The film feel was also like in the 80's, not all digital, sharp and contrasted like the new movies, however the makers added some modern camera movement which made this even spookier.
I gave this movie an 8, although it's wort more in my opinion but unfortunately I've already seen a movie with a few similarities so I have to stay realistic.
Anyway, definitely a horror worth mentioning in these unfertile times of the cinema industry.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
Fun but sometimes... stupid?!
I've just seen this movie. I really wasn't looking forward to it, but I had some free time so I did it. I generally don't like movies like this but I don't hate them either so this might be a realistic review.
When the movie started it blew me away, I actually went "WOW!" cos it surprised me positively. I like the cast, but then again I'm not a fan of GI Joe so I don't really know what the characters should be like, still I think the actors did a decent job.
Most of the film is made in modern action sci-fi style and the scenes are packed with flawless CGI and action as they should be in a movie like this.
So far I would give this movie a 7, but...
Durring this movie I noticed 3 HUGE mistakes the movie makers made.
1. Our Joes wearing the super fast suits run after a car, jump through a train, but can't catch up with 2 bad guys one of which is a 5'4" girl running on foot?!
2. One of the Joes gets tomato sauce spilled on his mask so he can't see anymore?! I mean, If those are super freaking' suits that can jump through walls, wouldn't the scientists who built them invent a way to clear that freaking' glass?
3. Ice doesn't sink people, it floats, so You cant blow the polar cap expecting the ice to sink! My god! RETARDED!
Some parts of the movie, like the three listed above, made me mad but I still think this movie is better then AVP 2 etc, so I'm gonna give it a weak 4.
The Spirit (2008)
I started watching this movie cos I thought it will be fun. With a cast like this you just couldn't go wrong right? Wrong! This movie was so bad, the acting was bad, theatric, old-school and disappointing. The names that appear in this movie are huge, so I guess the script might have sucked bad cos I love every single one of these actors.
I have to admit now, I could watch this movie till the end. It made me mad in the first 15 minutes. I hated the whole thing, a Sin City like cinematography that isn't Sin City?!?! Don't come to me like: "That's how Frank Miller does it!" cos he could use that excuse for the next picture instead of admitting that he doesn't have a new idea like for this one.
Don't get me wrong, I love all the movies Frank Miller did. Sin City, 300, Robocops etc. Brilliant to me. But this one is a zero!
Showtime, it's SHOWTIME!
This is one of the best series. Some series are long, up to 40 minutes, and if you don't want to get into watching series that much this is the real deal for you.
It has humor and drama presented to you by the best actors you could imagine for these characters. The first time I've seen this show I wanted more. It dragged me into its world cos it's something I haven't experienced. I don't know if everything they portray is realistic, but I don't really care cos it sure is entertaining. I just hope they make season four too.
Showtime is slowly killing the competition. Will they beat HBO? Who knows.
District 9 (2009)
Insane, sick, unexpected!
I saw this movie 3 days ago, and I want to see it again. It's fast, no way you'll get bored with this one! The way the film makers portrayed people in this movie is disturbingly realistic. In moments I thought like: "damn, this is how it really would happen!". The CGI is awesome, flawless, surreal. The story is totally unexpected for me, that's what made me watch this film without words, and I've seen every sci-fi movie I could get my hands on. This is a must see, it's the most original film I've seen in years. I'm sure critics will find flaws in this film too, but it's just because they're payed by other film companies to do so. Starting from now, this is my favorite sci-fi of all time. 10 out of 10 stars.
