It's 2024 and she STILL hasn't stopped interrupting her guests
24 January 2024
I only recently started watching the show while I was on bed rest. I couldn't take it because she interrupts her guests constantly.

Every question she asks her guests, she answers herself at some point in the interview. She asks a question, then she either immediately answers her own question before the guest has a chance, or she lets the guest start to answer and then she interrupts them before they can finish. It's insane.

She can sing but she has zero self awareness. Her parents clearly never told her to not interrupt people when they are speaking.

What's worse is that it seems to come from her own nervousness, so she gets worse as the show goes on or when it is a celebrity who she is a big fan of.

While she is interrupting, if the guest continues to speak, Kelly will actually start speaking louder to drown them out to finish her answer... so she interrupts but doesn't like to be interrupted.

It is so hard to believe that people have been posting about this for five years and she has not grown in her ability to host a show. It's as if nobody told her that communication is more than just talking and requires listening too.

Yesterday, she had that wonderful new actress, Alaqua Cox, on her show. For those who don't know, Alaqua is deaf, so she had to use an ASL interpreter. That was literally the only time Kelly did not interrupt, because Alaqua responded in sign language, then the interpreter spoke, and Kelly actually let the interpreter say everything without interrupting. Kelly had such a hard time doing the interview because she clearly didn't know where to look, instead of speaking to Alaqua, at one time she turned toward the interpreter and asked the interpreter the question. The silence between the answer seemed to make Kelly nervous and she actually had a hard time coming up with questions. I actually watched today to see if Kelly learned something from that interview and finally learned to listen. Nope.

She is a talented singer. If she can't learn to keep quiet while interviewing people in FiVE years, then she's just not going to learn, This show should be cancelled.

A forewarning of what would actually happen if women could hear men's thoughts
8 December 2021
I can think of no other reason for the existence of this movie other than a forewarning of what would happen if the only men who existed were men who are angry, insecure, self-loathing, neurotic, misogynistic, narcissistic psychopaths who were ashamed of women hearing their vile, idiotic, inner thoughts.

I'm actually a fan of most of Seth Rogan's work, but this...
7 December 2021
...is garbage.

Not for religious or political reasons but because it seems like Seth smoked a bit too much as he was writing this show.

The jokes aren't funny and it seems as if he decided to add a %$&* ton of swear words just because he could. I swear and don't take any issue with shows with curse words but my goodness, the swearing was as gratuitous as the violence in American movies and the nudity in French movies.

I was quite looking forward to this because I expected to laugh like I did with Sausage Party but this was just bad despite the plot sounding like an interesting idea. Everyone who green-lit this must have also been smoking whatever Seth was... all I can think about is the tremendous waste of money in making this. I hope he cuts back on the weed so that I can enjoy whatever he makes next though it seems like he may be on a decline because that movie he made with the young boys swearing just for shock value a couple years ago seems to be the start of his decline.

Maybe he can turn this around by making it an advertisement for his weed company... in that, the only way to laugh while watching this is if you buy weed from his weed company? Other than that, it's a no for me dog.

How silly...
29 August 2021
How silly it is to say that Summer of Soul was too political... good grief, Nina Simone was one of he performers and she literally states that artists can facilitate change through their art and then she proceeds to do just that, as did several of the other performers.

Too political? People were still reeling from Martin Luther King's death. Then there's the "Too much Jesus" comment... how could there not be some mention of Jesus when two of the artists shown were GOSPEL groups?

I do agree with the reviews noting that it would have been better to have more music because the music was awesome. At the same time, so was the social commentary; so perhaps the solution would have been to add a half hour so that the artists shown could have had full performances.

In my opinion, this was a refreshing look at history that would have otherwise been continued to be buried and I was happy to have the opportunity to have a glimpse of even a portion of it.

Does nobody have a sense of humour?
10 January 2020
This is absurdist comedy. It Is meant to be ridiculously stupid to the point of laughter, just like Children's Hospital (which is rated a 7.8 currently and is the basis for this spin off) and NTSF:SD:SUV (which is rated a 7.3 currently and is a parody of every cop serial but especially the ones that use acronyms, as the show actually means " (National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle" which is hilarious on its own).

Obviously we are all different and have different tastes but this show isn't a 4/10. I believe the problem is that it airs on Netflix, while those other shows did not and were niche shows that are marketed towards a select audience of people who know those shows exist and know that they are short ten minute episodes airing at midnight on the Adult Swim Network.

With Netflix being what it is and attracting a global audience, they've increased the episode run time from 10 minutes to 20 minutes and the worldwide viewers only include a fraction of people who actually enjoy these absurdist parody shows, hence the low rating. it this aired on Adult Swim, then it would have hit it's target market squarely on the nose and been rated at least a 7/10.

This was NOT necessary
26 December 2019
I am a die hard fan of Breaking Bad however, I can assure you that at no point in time since the final episode did I ever think "I wonder what happened to Jesse Pinkman after he drove off in that car?"

For me, the essence of breaking Bad was the evolution of Walter White and that means Bryan Cranston. The second necessary for me in the BB environment is Gus Fring... my gooodness, Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro Esposito also acted his life off. Aaron Paul? He was my least favourite character and actor on the show. He can undoubtedly act, but he is a single note actor in that when I watch him in other shows he seems as though he's playing the same character whereas Giancarlo Esposito and Bryan Cranston are chameleons who disappear into any character they portray.

Obviously those characters could not be in this movie, but in my opinion Aaron Paul is not strong enough to carry a two hour movie on his own. The cute little cutaways to show us flashbacks with other characters were wonderful but the whole thing made me miss the real series because this apertif did not do the series justice.

This was a decent movie but I didn't care what happened to Jesse when BB ended and I don't care now. This movie seemed self indulgent on Vince Gilligan's part as well as Aaron Paul as Paul was a producer. My hope is that any subsequent movies include a pre-BB storyline so that we can see the star of the show.

Uggghhh another Tyler Perry show?
24 October 2019
Every movie or show he makes is nothing but black stereotypes, even if he doesn't cast the black people as drug dealers and prostitutes it is the same stereotypical plot that reads as though he truly dislikes black women.

One star for each of the women is all I could afford to give this.

This show paints a dismal and unrealistic picture of New York in the 50s.
19 September 2019
I understand that this is not a documentary but come on, are you telling me that there were zero people of colour in New York in the 1950s? The most diverse this show got in the pilot was when they talked about ordering Chinese food or having curry... I wonder who was going to cook that food and in what restaurant?

While I am not one of those people who demands token representation, I do expect REALISTIC representation. Unless the show is only about a family who stays at home all day, then I would not expect to see diversity, but they do leave the house several times, for work and social events yet everyone is 100% white? Not even a background actor. It's set in 1950 not 1900. Ad in 2017 when the show was made one would think that they would have been more self aware.

Well hot sh#$, as I'm typing this a black woman showed up in the pilot. Unnatural and clearly a token rather than being actually reflective of the demographics at the time.

I really wanted to like this
13 July 2019
This show has a solid cast and production budget but I just couldn't get into it. I love Neil Gaiman's other shows about good and evil (Lucifer and American Gods) but this one was just "meh" for me. I laughed once in the first three episodes, so it doesn't have that typical dark humour. In my opinion, Tenant and Sheen were too over the top in their roles, trying too hard.

Hilarious that those complaining about "All men" despite the title
11 May 2019
So the title is "Not all men" yet these hypersensitive men complaining that they are being demonized can't seem to get that the show is not referring to "all men". It is only referring to those men who "choose to" behave like this, as was said in the episode.

If you are offended by this then you are likely one of those men in the show or you are missing the point entirely.

What a lovely show
14 March 2019
I've never been a fan of legal dramas because most are set in the States and feature horrific crimes that are often based on the same horrific crimes that occur in the States. I personally don't find that enjoyable. I thought I would give this show a try because we Canadians don't presently have a legal drama of our own that is set in Canada. Another reason I watched I watched is because of Vinessa Antoine, who is a great lead. I've watched her in supporting roles before (I LOVED Being Erica and when I'm off on Fridays I often check out what's up on General Hospital (the new Jordan was a poor casting choice and can't act, but I digress) and Vinessa is showing that she can lead a show. I'm glad I watched and will continue to do so. I've even learned some things about Nova Scotia that I didn't know! Only one thing would make the show better, a better production budget, because it looks like they've only spent a few thousand dollars more than the Canadian shows I used to watch when I was a little girl. But then again, this is on CBC, and I don't want my taxes to go up :)

A REASONALBE REVIEW
15 October 2018
I really wanted to like this show as I'm old enough to have watched and enjoyed the original. I wasn't hoping for a reboot with the original characters, I wasn't hoping for a reboot at all because the show was just a nice memory of a cancelled, old show.

We have had reboots of 90210, Melrose Place, Dallas, etc, etc, and none of those shows had the original cast members resume their old roles. Why? Because sometimes it is simply time to tell a new story. So why didn't 90210, Melrose Place and Dallas get the same backlash as this show? Well, it's simply because the show runners made this show contain feminist witches who are also visible minorities (Hispanic and biracial black/Caucasian). The majority of the negative 1 star posts are for those two reasons or both of those reasons.

Is this a good show? Well, the pilot sucked, but we'll have to give it a few more episodes to see if the entire series sucks. The pilot was rushed and jam packed with the entire history of the witches and sisters, it was just too much. Also, the three lead actresses aren't very good actresses, but hey, neither was the entire cast of the new 90210 and Melrose Place, but they got a pass until they grew as actors (some) and that became obvious with each episode as those shows got slightly better and renewed. So why so harsh now? Where is the same "wait and see" that was given to 90210 and Melrose Place and Dallas? Ahhh... those shows weren't cast with minority feminist leads.

I've rated the show a 4. I've seen worse. With YA shows, the pilot is usually iffy when it comes to the actors. Then when the show is shopped around those actors are (hopefully) busy become better at acting. There is usually a noticeable change by the second episode. That is why I usually end up changing my rating after the second episode. If it is better, I can't see this show being more than a 6, if it gets worse, then it's a 3. But it certainly isn't a 1. Likewise, it isn't a 10, those rating this a 10 are trying to offset those ridiculous people rating it a 1. I'll watch next week and adjust my rating accordingly, though I doubt I'll continue to watch the series as the likelihood of cancellation seems pretty likely.
