Suicide Squad (2016)
All the critics were WRONG!!! Great Film!!!
The critics were DEAD WRONG about this.
Suicide Squad was a great film and an awesome continuation of the DCEU. It had a great story to it, the characters were utilized properly (though Deadshot was portrayed almost as a hero), and the action sequences were amazing. David Ayer kept the spirit of the comics alive in this.
The Joker was well done by Jared Leto. Yes, a lot of the Joker scenes were cut from the film, but it was a good thing that they did so. It would have the taken away from the film too much. Will Smith as Deadshot was a good choice. He did a good job with that. Margot Robbie hit it dead on as Harley Quinn. There was no better choice. Jai Courtney as Boomerang was good, as well as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje for Killer Croc and Karen Fukuhara as Katana. Jay Hernandez was good as El Diablo. Viola Davis as Amanda Waller was superb.
*SPOILERS* The story with the Enchantress and her brother, going on a rampage for what Waller did to Enchantress was a great way to do this film. The Joker as an interruption to the mission was a great use of the character. They did a great job.
DC is doing a better job with more mature story lines than Marvels right now.
That being said, to all of the critics out there: GO EAT A BAG OF DICKS!!! SUICIDE SQUAD IS AWESOME!!!
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Great Film, But Very Underwhelming
Best comic book movie ever? Yeah, right.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a far better film than Captain America: Civil War.
Zemo was completely underused in this film. In the comics, he was a very manipulative man, like in the film, but is a very skilled fighter and can go toe-to-toe and hold his own against Captain America. In this, he was basically a terrorist, who was out for revenge. Very original. With Lex Luthor in BvS, he wanted to destroy Superman, both physically and mentally, and he wanted absolute power with it as well. They wasted the potential for Zemo in this film.
The story overall was very well done, like it's predecessor, The Winter Soldier, but it could've been so much better. It didn't feel like Civil War, it felt more like a school yard brawl. The action sequences were great though. I loved them, but action doesn't make a film great. They barely touched on the original storyline, and just took the title, "Civil War", and slapped it under Captain America. Like Marcel Tim said, "Should have called this Winter Soldier 2 to be honest." In BvS, Lex made Superman look more like a threat to Batman. That was better executed than Zemo in this film.
It seems Marvel/Disney is coughing up money to the critics and give this film acclaim. What every critic is saying about Civil War are complete exaggerations. I think MCU films are losing steam.
