Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)
This movie is over the top
I kept hearing nothing but bad comments about this movie about how it made no sense and the plot was confusing. I went and saw it last night i do agree that the plot was confusing but all in all i thought it was a pretty good movie. Johnny Depp once again pulls off an amazing performance (no shock there) even though the plot was hard to understand the movie was fun. It was full of over the top exaggerations like Antonio Banderas climbing straight up a wall and huge explosions. It is a good movie to go to with a group of friends. If you are looking for oscar material i don't recomend this movie but for what it is it's good. (8/10)
If you don't like pirates go for Depp.
Pirates of the Caribbean was a lot better than I expected it to be. I thought Orlando Bloom did a good job (not great but good) Geoffrey Rush was an excellent bad guy. The best part of this whole movie is Johnny Depp's performance. If you don't like pirates at least go see it for Depp. Everything from his entrance to his fight scenes are done with this certain pizzazz. You can't help but feel good and smile every time he is on the screen. He was perfect for this role and I couldn't see anyone else in it. I think this is the best movie of the summer but I do not recommend this for very small children (too much violence). All in all a great movie I give it an 9/10.
The Cat's Meow (2001)
Nice to look at but that is about it
The film The Cat's Meow takes place in 1924 aboard William Randolph Hearst yacht. It is about the mysterious death of a man by the name of Thomas Ince. The movie is very slow and I got bored of everyones problems before I even really knew what they were. The best part of the whole movie were the costumes. I especially loved the ones during the costume party. They were creative and imaginative and they kept my attention more than the plot. I'm not saying it is a bad movie just a little slow. I give it a 6/10.
Fellowship of the Ring I felt was wonderful when I first saw it. I loved the effects and the stars (especially Orlando Bloom) but now that I am reading the books I see they left out a whole lot. I understand why I mean if they put everything in then you have a 6 hour movie. But things they should have kept. Such as the scene in the prancing pony they should have had Frodo dancing on the table I felt that was a very amusing part in the book. But alas not everything can be what I want it to be. All and all great movie.
