I am that I am

This series is trying to be religious, traditional and stick to the story. From the first couple of minutes we know we are watching religious traditional content...until it starts becoming ridiculous. They paraphrase important parts of the biblical story even though they act like they want to go by the book. Nonsense comments from random people that act like Moses was a historical religious figure and destroying the religious symbology of it all. They didn't even get the God's name right.

The clothes, the hair, the make up is not engaging at all. It keeps reminding the viewer that this is just bad story telling, not fulfilling the religious purposes and with extremely poor esthetics. I prefer Kingsley's Moses.

Ps. Jamaican wife? Really?

Best Moses Ever
6 April 2024
Crazy Moses, hearing voices, seeing things that don't exist after he gets hit on the head. Psychotic, crazy, detached from reality. The most realistic version of the mythical Moses.

I am tired of these movies portraying Moses like a kind lovely person, who cares about people he didn't know were his family a few days ago. Only a crazy delusional man would abandon the comfort of Egyptian lifestyle to go around in dirty rags.

Awesome approach!

I am sorry I discovered this gem so late. I wasn't watching the movie because of the criticism and bad reviews.

Can the religious viewer get offended by the movie? Yes, of course. If that's your case, choose something more traditional.

Bad beyond expectations
11 February 2024
A great cast, very talented actors, great budget, awesome scenery and landscape...yet this director managed to create a really boring and ugly result. How is it possible?

It is possible when instead of focusing on the super resources that you have (cast, castle etc) you focus on creating a cheap copy paste of what? Game of Thrones? Turkish series? I don't know... Unnecessary sex scenes that are so bad and uncomfortable, all this yelling and screaming of the actors, the cringe love adventures of this "witch"/maid/maiden/hermit (?????), the talking...they all talk in a poetic kind of exaggerated way...because that's how people talked back then??? Jesus... Watch Psychokores and learn how to do the job before you waste such a high budget for this poor result.

By the way...by episode 50 the witch hasn't learnt how to witch yes... So bad...

70s in the 90s
10 December 2023
Did they even research what people used to wear in the late 60s and 70s? Where are the colors? Where is the hippie style? These people are in the 90s, possibly 2000s without the technology.

They practice yoga????? In the 70s?? This is so bad.

The actors are so talented but the story is a copy paste of "Wild Bees" go to the beach.

Great actors wasting their talent on this thin nonsense story.

The producers or whoever is responsible for the continuous destruction of potential good products, should have more respect for the actors and for the audience. And how about doing a project that doesn't look outdated and boringly directed?

Bad
31 May 2023
Everyone is talking about how great this show is. I started watching it for the first time. There is no doubt is well made in terms of photography etc. But it has no story, no character development, the dialogues are basic and I feel like I am watching a dress up party of people, who think they are hotter than what they actually are.

Until now we have seen important ancient civilizations being butchered by untalented and uneducated writers. Greeks, Romans, Egyptians... So it's good to see that they can do equally bad with civilizations that were in the development stage. No comment about the crazy chronological inaccuracy. Thank the Norse Gods we didn't see Ragnar reaching NY.

Lucky Hank (2023)

Not my type of show
22 April 2023
It has definitely some positive aspects, such as good acting and writing. However, I feel that the show lacks a plot and some of the side characters are unnecessary or for sure not engaging and interesting.

The lack of plot is making the show feel aimless and difficult to follow. It's worth noting that some shows prioritize character development over plot, and it's possible that "Lucky Hank" would like to fall into that category. Unfortunately it is so full of minor unnecessary details that make the overall product boring for the viewer.

If you're someone who values a strong plot and well-developed characters, you may find the show disappointing, especially if you are expecting the quality (in terms of plot and character development) similar to Better Call Saul.

Gomez looks like Fester with a wig.
17 December 2022
This is so bad. It was boring, boring, boring.

The actors are great but the choices, the directing, the script...all so so bad.

Wednesday looks like she is not having fun at all. She is apparently good at everything, she drinks espresso and she is also clairvoyant or something????

Gomez??? Who?? Is Gomez supposed to be ugly? The chemistry between Morticia and Gomez has left the set... Morticia looks bored.

The school... It was like a bad version of Harry Potter.

Fester looks better than Gomez...

The plot is boring and superficial. As usual Tim Burton has focused on the hair and looks and missed the plot. It's fine, because it made money anyways.

Review

The first episode is really good. Good directing, story with potential and great actors. It was very promising. I liked the Athens part and the story of the brothers.

The second episode is ok. Not so good but acceptable. By the third episode I don't even know what I am watching anymore. The actors are good especially Talat Bulut and the "healer". But this story makes no sense at all. The music is too "epic" and dramatic even for everyday scenes where they are preparing a smoothie. The dialogues are poor and boring. The writing and the dialogues are like written by a 10 year old.

I hope the next episodes get better like the first.

Great actors!! Seriously great actors!!
9 October 2022
Remarkable acting. A wonderful piece of art when it comes to the visual result. Great photography.

The scenario was boring. The topic was very interesting and it had huge potential but they just did not take full advantage of the great actors and the controversial topic they had. The result is a slow boring thing that makes no sense. The characters sometimes overreact for no reason. The dialogues barely feel natural and the whole thing just doesn't flow. They have chosen to represent 2 super extreme cases. Super poor villager and super wealthy people. This is not representing the average society. The middle class was completely gone from this series.

The actors did an amazing work with such a bad scenario.

Trainspotting guy in his 40s and Haluk Bilginer
9 October 2022
When the guy from trainspotting got a bag full of money, he decided to become and architect and settle down. He forgot about his past as a drug addict punk and focused on his family and career. He has a great apartment, kids, an engineer house wife. But once he turns 40, all this is not enough. He is longing for his youth. His everyday life becomes unbearable. And he is dressing up with his punk outfit, paying for the vacation and the drugs of some homeless punks. End of the story.

The only reason why you should watch this thing is Haluk Bilginer. He is fantastic and hilarious. You can't figure out if he really exists or if it's simply a hallucination of the protagonist. He really gets the vibe of what this series should be. Unfortunately the rest of the actors cannot keep up with his excellent approach.

Watchable
9 October 2022
A love story between a borderline psycho (Alihan) and an underage looking chipmunk with japanese hairstyle (Zeynep). A Scarlet Johansson wannabe (Yildiz) and her obsession over finding a rich old husband. A rich powerful business man (Halit) who is screaming to his daughter for marrying a golddigger husband...while he is counting 3 marriages with women who were mostly into his money. A super elegant and intelligent woman (Ender) who for some reason is obsessing over a silly revenge and her brother, a good looking party guy who turns into a clerk by season 2. Still better than Iyilik. Generally it is watchable, if you have time to lose or if you're learning the language.

No spoilers
4 October 2022
The first few episodes are really good. The plot is fine, the acting is really good and there are some interesting plot twists. So I thought this was going to be fine.

Towards the end of the first season you just cannot figure out what is going on. Everyone is yelling at each other, plotting against each other continuously. And all of this for nothing. Their goals keep changing, their needs are unclear. A total mess. Plot twists that make no sense. All this drama is caused by 2 extremely intelligent and beautiful women, that are fighting and consuming their intelligence over a guy who looks, walks and talks like Al Bundy.
