Stranger Things (2016)
Had a hard time sitting through the first episode and skipped through scenes in order to not bore myself to death and still see what the story is about.

As a sci-fi adventure lover I gave this series a chance even though I loathe horror type stories. I do not enjoy it when they try to scare me with monsters which is probably the biggest reason why this show did not perk my interest. But it was not the only reason.
The first scene I had to skip through was the two teenagers bickering about nonsense. The guy pushing the girl to spend time with him while she wanted to do schoolwork. How could such vain dialogue interest anyone? The second scene I had to skip through was the mother yelling hysterically at the cop while he was trying to type up the report. I don't enjoy looking at women yelling while waiting on the plot to progress but having to listen to it is just unbearable. How do people enjoy sitting through a scene like that for entertainment purposes?

I noticed many dialogues did not add any real value to the story line and were just inserted as scene fillers or standard, unoriginal character building.
All in all most scenes were pretty standard story line protocol, not very creative and therefore just too predictable.
I can see why all these film school students, hipsters and self acclaimed art gurus love this movie. It goes against anything you would expect a movie to be. There is nothing to understand about any aspect of what is shown.
I can understand people feel baffled and amazed after seeing this but just because it provokes those feelings doesn't make it a good movie. To me this movie is the equivalent of some 'painter' randomly splattering paint and swinging a brush against a canvas. The 'artist' doesn't even have to explain anything, just give his work an obscure title and due to the mere fact that it can be connected to anything the viewer wants, it is transformed by criticism into a 'mysterious unexplainable masterpiece'.
To go against the general opinion is kind of like swimming against the current but if you look at what the general public has accomplished in the past, you could only describe them as asinine, delusional and amnesic. Which, in many cases gives me all the more reason to doubt the validity of the general opinion.
In my opinion, this movie is just a deranged mess of ideas, held together by many moments of awkward and nonsensical moments. I could see some references to the circle of life and death but it was far from profound or inspiring. All in all it was depressing to watch, it would've been more entertaining to have hung myself upside down for 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Alpha Dog (2006)
First of all, J.T is not a tough or intimidating guy, he's got a high voice, a pretty-boy face and the 'slang' does not suit him at all. The same goes for his partners, just really bad casting.
The story itself is pretty unrealistic, there's no moral, sensation or humor the only thing it has is drama. Also the main characters are immensely brainless and that doesn't really help to sympathize or in any other way get into the movie.
The movie is basically about a group of people that make really stupid decisions. It's built around the plot which I thought was comparable to a small 'poof' after lighting a big firecracker.
It's just a lame and over-hyped movie without a backbone. Not even worth a lazy Sunday.
