"To our Friend Howard, who gave a mermaid her voice and a beast his soul, we will be forever grateful. Howard Ashman 1950-1991"
17 Again (2009)
You Only Have Control Over You
Bring along some friends and loved ones to see this movie. In this latest teen flick, Zac Efron is playing Mike O'Donnell a father of two and best of all a husband. This movie is one heck of a ride when you first meet him then see the movie progress on. Some of this is somewhat predictable, however, the other things they through at you is sentimental with a cherry on top. The actors in this movie are very much casted well. Leslie Mann is a beautiful Scarlett and the best of the cast include his children. Overall a movie with heart and a great lesson for everyone. I would strongly suggest this movie for couples and teens. Zac was really good and he really got into character.
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
He is the winner
As movies continue to come this movie that I saw at my local multiplex drove me to another way of life. In the slums of Mumbai, India a kid named Jamal is sent on a game show. Little does he know he is sent through a time warp that he never expected. In this beautifully mastered drama directed by Danny Boyle, he makes this film best picture material and makes you think about, can this really happen?
This movie will make you really think about how can a kid from the slums of Mumbai become a Slumdog Millionaire?
I give this film ten out of ten. I recommend this film for everyone over the age of 13.
Bella and Edward
As a reader of books you can say that when a movie is written about them you say, what? In this newly adapted page to screen book it is fairly decent. This is not like anything you can say the negative talk about. Sure you say that the book has more detail but when you read, the author writes out the detail and on screen the detail is already there. So go see this movie after reading the book and just enjoy it for what it is and don't listen to critics. It just makes you hate movies that you may like. Also as an added bonus to this movie you have very good looking' actors to watch.
Hannah Montana (2006)
Disney Channels' Mulan
If many young girls out there love this show and the star well heres a wake up call for you. In 1998 Disney made the Chinese Folktale into a movie. Basically this is imitating the great film into a modern day drama for tween. Miley Cyrus can't act and has a poor background on the character. The supporting characters have terrible and unsupported feedback to Miley's character. Somehow when Disney Channel thought that this show was good as Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, The Jersey, So Weird, and The Famous Jett Jackson they were wrong. Disney Channel makes terrible investments and this will surely backfire as a result of the declining fans the Miley soon will loose in the future. In conclusion don't watch this show if you love Billy Ray Cyrus.
This is not the movie!
As many of you know the series was thought of as an adaptation of the movie but this is a continuation of the Return of Jafar. This series was necessary because of the depth and closure to all the characters that many of us don't get with many series. In this see the many obstacles that Aladdin faced trying to show people(especially the Palace Guard Razoul) that he was sultan material, Jasmine showed that she was a more defensive strong character that she was tough enough, and more Aladdins' past more revealed in this series(minus the whole King of Thieves). I know many of us didn't like that there was no Robin Williams but the Disney Company screwed up and it was settled. I gave Dan Castellaneta a fair chance and the result. He was a good recovery and still the Genie was still Genie. His voice was good too so no harm no foul. In all a great series and it really is the best series out there that makes pop culture and history fun to learn.

The Dark Knight (2008)
Why So Serious!
If the last Batman film made you want to be in Gotham City than this does it again. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman reprise their original roles from Batman Begins with Maggie Gyllenhal and to replace Katie Holmes from the first. Aaron Eakhart who is the Two Face is brilliant along with the fact that he may be up for some awards that could possibly give him an Oscar nod. But the main focus that is concentrated here is The Joker and the late Heath Ledger. He puts the best performance of a lifetime. He is going to win the Oscar and his spirit is always with you through the entire film. I do warn parents however, this film is the Darkest thing to what it really is. Children who love Batman should know that Christopher Nolan didn't make a typical cartoon style with this. No, he makes it fill amazing and breathtaking. Know your kids before seeing this movie. But it is amazing in all respect.
2009-Heath Ledger(The Dark Night)Won for Best Supporting Actor Heath Ledger R.I.P.
High School Musical 2 (2007)
Another unnecessary sequel
In this sequel of the 2006 hit Disney Channel Original Movie, Kenny Ortega( a.k.a. director of Hocus Pocus) tries to make an impressive sequel with great new songs and excellent choreography. Also the cast returns to try to deliver a memorable storyline to remember for ages. However that fails as this longest running Disney Channel Original Movie attempts. The cast is cheesy and they act horribly and sing so high that it ruins the ears of us. Some of the actors shouldn't even be there. Ashley Tisdale got the job because of The Suite Life, Lucas Grabel got the job because of Halloween High, and Zac and Vanessa were such a bad couple. I wish Disney Channel got better unaffiliated actors would get these parts. Sometimes they need to think outside box.
Adam Sandler is a real actor
After watching Mr. Deeds and Big Daddy you think Adam Sandler is just a comedian. "Click" puts a new twist on the former SNL alum to a role that was made for him. Sandler plays a working father whose job overtakes his life and would like to spend more time with his family. While running an errand he finds a door to a closet and ends up getting a universal remote that changes his life forever. The performances in this movie are awesome and have a good supporting role to the story. Just watch it and see Adams best performance, yet. Christopher Walken, Henry Winkler, Kate Beckinsale, David Hasselhoff, and Jennifer Coolidge co-star in this movie.
"If We Never Had This Movie........................................."
Disney made a statement by giving this film an ending nobody saw coming. Though this movie is loosely based on the true story of Pocahontas and Captain John Smith the way it was altered was stunning, the music and songs were fantastic, and thirdly the cast was incredible. The talent Christian Bale(a.k.a. Batman:Bruce Wayne) and Mel Gibson(a.k.a. director of The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto) have made the voice irreplaceable. The people of this film were giving this movie a way to pave the way for other great films such as Mulan, Tarzan, and Lilo and Stitch. The songs "Colors of the Wind" and "Just Around the Riverbend" show how the Native Americans were about the Earth and how we should live our lives our way by choosing and going down the right path. The most stunning shocker was when the Disney crew of this film, Alan Menken, and Stephen Shwartz pulled the song "If I Never Knew You" from the collection of songs to be used for the movie. They thought it would be to emotional for the target audience, kids and families. But it was looked at as a film for adults because they would grasp the ending better. It was later inserted at the end credits to the popular Disney pop versions sung by Jon Secada and Shanice. In the DVD release it was inserted to the Special Edition was released sung by Mel Gibson and Judy Kuhn, the original singing voices(Mel also speaking as John Smith). The film picked up two Oscar wins with Best Original Song: "Colors of the Wind" and Best Original Score. I saw this movie when I was three and was so into it that I couldn't stop thinking about why "A Love So Strong and True" could be so separated. I watched it again when I was old enough to get it and realized how their people were and how the "Colors of the Wind" combined them together and what makes "A Love So Strong and True". I warn parent with young children to watch it with them. Don't allow a young child watch it alone. I advise people to watch it when they are ten and older to watch it by themselves.
So as "If We Never Had This Movie we Would Be Safe But Half As Real"
The Little Mermaid (1989)
Once Upon A Time....................................................
Once Upon A Time there was a group of animators who were in a pickle of mysteries after the previous pieces were second-rate. Night after night these animators would spend hours and hours of brainstorming. They came to no conclusion. Then a Disney Guardian Angel appeared and presented them with a story a very sad story. It was the tragic fairy tale of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson. So many of them caught on but some were iffy about how parents and children would act to the end. So as they had done to previous fairy tales, they adapted it to a happy ending. But as Disney does with all there fairy tales they put together an ensemble of songs and scores to make it work. For that they asked two Dukes of Music: Howard Ashman and Alan Menken to make that magic happen. Four years went bye with casting, editing, singing, compilation, and final drafting it was November 17th of 1989 and the movie was finished and was shown to the world. Surprised at the critics reviews The Little Mermaid was an instant hit with the edited storyline, songs, music, and characters it was great. As the pickle of mystery wore off as other classic were made after that it was not only a movie that changed Disney it inspired Disney to make more. And They Lived Happily Ever After. The End
