7 Khoon Maaf (2011)
7 Khoon Maaf does not forgive.
I was excited for this film when I found out that who the director was (Vishal) and that Priyanka Chopra would play the lead role. YES.
Priyanka's acting is superb, nothing to taint here. Her husbands' acting is decent. (John, Neil, Russian Guy,) The other husbands know what they're doing. (Nasr, Irfan,) The supporting actors are great.
Vishal Bardwaj is a magnificent director, never fails in this movie and neither does the dialogue.
Moreover, what I didn't like. The beginning starts out somber and a little dull and you're always waiting for something climatic to happen - but are let down. Suzanna's partners' demises are frankly not climatic at all. The most exciting part was the Russian Roulette scene, reeling you in strongly.
All in all, the film scored and celebrated but carried some minor fumbles. *It is a film more adequately suited for Hollywood than Bollywood because of its premise and scenes. Therefore, it flailed financially in India, mostly because the film clashes against culture. And on that note, watch 7 Khoon Maaf with an open mind and a witty attitude.
