A 3D Disaster Movie And So Much More
3 June 2015
You think of movies like 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow when you look at the title of this movie. If you are a thrill-seeker for disaster flicks, this movie is definitely one you should watch. Spectacular special effects and CGI, and there is some actual ACTING in this film. The lead characters had emotion, and there was always time in the movie for you to get to really know the characters in the movie. The plot was everything you'd expect from a core disaster movie. You will not be disappointed with Dwayne Johnson's performance. He actually made me cry as I watched the movie (I will not mention spoilers). It's a movie of excitement, heavy doses of intensity, and powerful visuals. It is definitely a must-see!

AnnaSophia Robb and Nick Stahl Illuminate a Dark Shadow In This Masterpiece
28 January 2011
The director could not have picked better actors for this film than Nick Stahl and AnnaSophia Robb. Every movie that I have seen AnnaSophia act in, she has taken her role seriously, with the fullest extent of her acting ability, and to heart.

Nick plays the uncle, James, and AnnaSophia plays James' niece, Tara. The two are locked in position with their own dark pasts (Tara dealing with her mother's sudden disappearance after her mother had been unable to look after her due to her lifestyle, and James being the dark memories of his abusive father with him and his sister Joleen *Tara's Mother*).

Now, I am not going to get into detail on everything the movie is about, because I honestly think you really should see the film if you haven't already, and I am not going to spoil it. However, the movie takes you to the dark place (Dennis Hopper plays a dark, twisted, and excellent Role as the Father of James and Joleen). It takes you through the emotions of hitting rock bottom, a child's world upside down in the eyes of a 12 year old, a mother's struggle to hold on, and with no other alternative, a return trip to the farm of evil.

10/10 P.S.: When about to watch this film, remember the words of AnnaSophia Robb herself - "You've got to keep your mind wide open."

Hook (1991)

One of my favorites
11 April 2009
I was 10 years old when I first saw this movie (and I was born in 1993), and it was one of my favorites. The 90's had a lot of very great movies, and I had to watch movies when I reached an age where I'd understand them. At 10 years old, I began to watch movie after movie to catch up to my older sister. Hook has many talented actors in it, and the plot was very good. The action scenes were very well done, the pirates were incredibly detailed in their clothes, and the whole island brought me back to the world of wonder that is Never Never Land. The Disney movie of it was what led me to watch this one, and because I watched the Disney one, it made me love this one even more. Sure, there are some of you who say it could have been better, and in some ways, I do agree, but for what they had to work with, I say it was a spectacular adventure.

The Epitome of Crap
3 October 2008
Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey was probably one of the best animal movie around, and everything that that movie was, this movie isn't. It isn't spectacular, it isn't breathtaking, it isn't adventurous, it isn't funny, it just goes to show how low Disney will sink to earn money from your children. Take it from me, I'm only 15 years old, and even I was holding my forehead with my hand and shaking my head, wondering: "Why??... WHY?!" It might be good for preschoolers who laugh at stupid jokes, but my goodness, I'd be surprised if this even makes 2 stars on the official ratings list. To put it all together, I not only want my money back, but I am going to torch this ticket in my fireplace tonight and forget all about it. @_@
