Quantum of Solace (2008)
Bond minus style and soul
A very confusing Bondfilm. The editing is too Bourne like and not very effective. Forster's direction makes the film look rushed. The story is very weak and there is far too much action. This looks like just another action movie. I missed classic lines, style, wit and some TRUE Bond-moments. There is a lack of originality here, sadly.
However, all the people who hates Bondmovies should be happy with this, because as an action movie it is decent. But as a Bondmovie: Very disappointing.
Come back Pierce Brosnan - we forgive you :)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
Better than Star Wars
A fantastic Bondfilm! Easily the best film made in 1977 (yes it's actually better than the overrated Star Wars). This filmproduction has everything; an exciting ski chase in austria, a brilliant car chase, a good sense of humor and larger-than-life characters. Funny, exciting, and thrilling. Roger Moore is terrific as James Bond! An entertaining movie with all the right elements of a great Bond film. Don't miss this one!
Stromberg: "Why do we seek to conquer space when seven tenth's of our universe remains to be explored. The world beneath the sea"
Licence to Kill (1989)
Where all other Bonds begin, this one ends.
What a disappointment! This is definitively the weakest Bondfilm ever made. The filmmakers have totally ignored Fleming's style and atmosphere and made something completely new and different. It feels more like an American B-action than a Bondfilm. Timothy Dalton lacks charm and charisma and can't match up with Connery, Lazenby, Moore or Brosnan. But he deserves a better film than this.
