Low-key and fascinating.
29 December 2023
I love this series. It's a low-key show that is just delightful. Nice to have something that has zero stress other than watching the, carefully move a priceless piece of history,

They pick objects, check the, for damage to see if they can be displayed or shipped, fix damage and clean, if needed, sometimes go to see the creator of the object or a relative if they have passed, and then show the object in the museum with said creator or family or person of interest invited.

The museum workers are extremely educated and very knowledgeable on their area of expertise be it textile, art, pop culture and even toys! They are all very friendly and you can tell they adore their jobs.

It's like watching a history nerd convention of extremely friendly fans who are addicted to priceless objects, but have the utmost respect for the, and delight in watching others enjoy them as well.

If you like museums and documentaries and/or have ever wondered how a museum works before an object goes on display, I highly recommend it.

Love Blossom

I remember seeing this when I was eight years old. Three years later, I was reading a book called "The Ghost Belonged to Me" and thought the book sounded very familiar. It was the same plot with a few changes. Honestly, the sequel to the book is more entertaining, but they are both wonderful for middle aged girls and boys. I just loved the book and the movie. I even managed to get a copy of the movie on VHS. If you have a tween in your house, this is a great movie and book.

The sequel to the first book and the other two in the series are all about Blossom Culp who becomes this awesome tween bada** and the Titanic is involved.

Warning: Spoilers
This show is hilarious. How perfect is having comedian George Wallace play George Wallace. The song "T*** the North" is a particular delight.

This show ISN'T for everyone. If you are not open-minded, don't watch. You won't like it. If you are? You will love this.

Tbh, I had a problem watching the previous film. I found it offensive. I think now I could find the humor in it instead of being offended. But my open-mindedness and humor wasn't there yet.

This show is intelligent. Very much so. You need to know history. You need to really know history. Also helps if you know media. Examples include "The Jeffersons" and "Get Back" with The Beatles. There are more, but those are the first ones I can think of,

You also need to know pop culture and current events . The Beatles, TikTok, current politics, what's going on in other countries. If you don't pay attention to all of that, you will also not understand this show.

If you do, the complexities of the scenes will be hilarious. Watching the wonderful Wanda Sykes play Shirley Chisholm was a delight especially with the amazing Marla Gibbs from the original sitcom,

The only thing I don't like are the "Jackass" bits. That seems so toilet humor for Mel Brooks. I am surprised he went there. Luckily, those bits are short vignettes.

And I can't stress enough that if you are not educated about history, the show really won't make sense and YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND THE SHOW.

Honestly, I am stunned the ratings are this bad, but it is probably because the wrong people were watching.

This is a good show.

Amazing

I thought I Am the Night was extraordinary. If you like noir, this has it in spades. My only disappointment was that they didn't reveal the final secret, but other than that, it was stellar. Fantastic acting all around!

Chick Flick
23 June 2004
This is a beautiful movie. Very poignant and touching. Some of the shots are the kind that will always stick in your head as you think back on movies you have seen. Wonderful framed!

The acting was superb. Never do you think that you are watching actors on a screen. You get so wrapped up in the story that the characters come to life and you feel as if you are sharing in their joy and sorrow.

However, be forewarned that it is something of a chick flick. Take a box of tissue and a bowl of ice cream and get a hug after watching it. If you don't like dramas that make you cry, don't see this film. Not that men won't like the film as well. But a person who loves action flicks and nothing else will be bored to tears watching this film.
