Nickeloden Just Doesn't Care...
I'm 23, and I grew up on this show...I have a pretty good guesstimate as to why the show was canceled. It was marketed toward the much older end of the Nickelodeon audience. "Nick" got so watered down over the years with puffy baby stuff that this older audience completely abandoned the network (and rightfully so). Boys, and girls..let's face it, this show would be considered "retro" by all means in 2002. Kids hardly goto arcades any more and if they do, I doubt they are playing Atari games, and pinball. We can no longer dress like Madonna or Michael Jackson, and not only get away with it but be considered cool by doing so. I am all for bringing back this show; if not on "Nick" then possily on Nick At Night. I would like to say something directly to the corporation, and to the CEO's that run the network...Smarten up! If you brought this show back, you would not only skim an audience from some of the teens, and pre-teens that are sick of the crap that's on TV nowadays but you would also have much of the older origonal audience (probably 20-40 year-olds by now). Thats a pretty big audience. Not only would you not have to pay for production cost, but you already have the rights to the show! Its time for you to give the show back to us. Besides the 80's are back kinda, right?
The only thing "Beautiful" is the title.
I want to start out by saying that I dont mind an occasional "chick flick." This movie makes me want to eat those words. On the technical end, it seems as though the little "Pepsi girl" could have edited it, and it could only have been an improvement. Minnie Driver was so concerned about losing her English accent that her acting suffered greatly. Sally Field has to know a thing or two about good film-making, which makes me all the more baffled as to where her head was while "directing" this garbage. Rating: Pure junk food, no nutritional value!
