Kleo (2022)
Fantastic
Very clever, quirky and funny German comedy drama series that i didnt expect to love so much. It's turned out to be the best series I've seen on Netflix or anywhere in ages. Exceptional lead actor Jella Hause too. I watched it all over two days and enjoyed every minute! It was gripping and suspenseful and had alot to say too about the dehumanising effect of the regime in the GDR and the devastating consequences. Greatly enjoyed all the period detail too. Great outfits and interiors and striking filming locations. Struggled abit with the dubbing for half of the first episode but didn't care at all after that as just so good!
Forsvinningen - Lørenskog 31. oktober 2018 (2022)
Excellent drama of a true story
I am enjoying this very much. The separate episodes focusing on the different professionals involved was especially interesting. Also the discussion of bias and tunnel vision in our views and perspectives on such cases. I found it a clever and carefully done very watchable drama. I would recommend it. I lam also learning Norwegian so was a good learning tool for my language skills also!
I would like there to have been a resolution to the case but of course as in real life disappearances are not always solved. It's very sad and I hope in the future the family will find out what happened and have some closure of sorts.
Paper Girls (2022)
A great watch
Just binged half of this with my son in one sitting and we both enjoyed it alot. The story is intriguing and really packs an emotional punch. Excellent child actors too.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Very good drama! Compelling and full of heart.
I enjoyed this so much! Very entertaining, mysterious and clever! Maddies chaotic crazy life and denial of her addiction were viscerally portrayed and her realisations about
massive childhood trauma and
ensuing emotional journey were relatable and moving.
Last Train to Christmas (2021)
Very enjoyable funny and different time travel film with a heart
Absolutely loved this film!
Works brilliantly with all of Tony Towers time travel on one train journey at Christmas (though slightly confusing on the first watch) and has a fantastic cast who are all excellent. I loved all the retro hair dos and outfits Michael Sheen had! It was also ultimately very moving. This will definitely be a film I return to again and again at Christmas or any time of year! ( I've watched it 3 times already!)
Crazy, Not Insane (2020)
Amazing woman who has done incredible work in this difficult area
Exceptional film looking at a woefully neglected area i.e the effect of extreme trauma on a child and in certain cases the development of a Multiple Personality Disorder in those that become killers as adults. I love Dorothy Lewis. She is full of such wisdom, knowledge and understanding into the damage that trauma does to children and adults and therefore society.
Hjem til jul (2019)
Love this programme. Both Seasons are excellent!
I cannot rate this series highly enough! The acting is top notch! It is funny, insightful, moving and very engaging. I love Johanne...she's a wonderful protagonist in a story that defies the usual rom com predictabilities.
