The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
I have seen "The Matrix Reloaded" twice. The first time, I just went to a local theatre and it was good there. Today, after hearing that it would be playing in IMAX theatres, I went to the nearest multiplex with an IMAX theatre and it was 1000 times better! If any of you have the chance to see it in IMAX, one word: GO!
Shanghai Knights (2003)
The better of two movies I saw last weekend
I had the opportunity to see two movies this past weekend-"Daredevil" and "Shanghai Knights". While I liked both, "Shanghai Knights" was better.
For those of you who've been living under a rock, "Shanghai Knights", starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, is a sequel to the movie "Shanghai Noon". This time, the characters Chon Wang (Chan) and Roy O' Bannon (Wilson) travel to merry old England to find Wang's sister Chon Lin (the hottie Fann Wong) and an artifact of the Chinese empire that their family has been caretakers of for generations.
While investigating, they meet a representative of Scotland Yard, Inspector Artie Doyle (as in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes) and a young, "Oliver Twist"-like pickpocket by the name of Charlie (Chaplin). Also along the way, they discover a plot by one of the British royals to assassinate his entire family so he can ascend to the throne.
This movie was well-acted, well directed and the fight scenes were well choreographed (by the master himself). In my honest opinion, Owen Wilson is an even better sidekick to Jackie Chan than Chris Tucker, and Chris Tucker is a good sidekick in the "Rush Hour" movies.
The Recruit (2003)
Basic, pretty much by-the-numbers spy movie, with a bit of a twist. My friends and I enjoyed it even though we were whisperingly calling about half the stuff before it actually happened, but that was from seeing one to many spy movies.
