The Debt (2010)
Pretty good movie..
I went in looking for a slow plodding movie, instead it was well paces and enjoyable. Helen Mirren was great as usual, but only really in the last third of the movie. The movie was grim at times and even shocking in some scene. The theater had just a few people and most where older couples. I don't think it will do well in box office numbers. But it is a good movie not great but very good. If you like to see how people deal with moral and ethical issue and not be super hero this is the movie. There are no James Bond or Salt character but real fully identifiable human being with flaws and defects. There is a lingering question at the end of the movie but no spoiler in here. I'm saying that because I don't know the answer either.
The Sentinel (2006)
Did anyone ask how did the bad guy know Micheal Douglas secret and no one else. Why did they kill the first agent the black guy. What made them think he had information about them. Oh yes and whats with the director of the movie Clark Johnson doing a basis cameo as said agent. I guess he still want to act. Micheal Douglas was to old for the part he was playing. Clint Eastwood show his age by huff and puff like he is portraying himself realistic for his age. The movie was a joke impossible, unrealistic, and not at all believable. Cmon this guy walk away a hero instead of in jail. And did the president not find out about him and the first lady. And how gross was that can you picture young virile secret service agent an Laura Bush up stair and W and Cheany not knowing. Well on second thought guess that might be possible.
Batman Begins (2005)
This is what movie should do entertain
This felt like sitting down to read a good book even though you knew how it will end. It is still a very good read. The movie started slowly but this is okay, because you need the back story to really understand the character and in the end the story. I love the first two movies and really though Micheal Keaton did Batman very will. But Bale take cues form his performance i.e. the voice and way he use it and add a no nonsense edge to his Batman that is even more intense but not unbelievable.
I like all the male supporting character and each one add to the film. Even Gary Oldman was likable and restrain in his Lt. Gordon role. The girl was necessary for the 13-25 group but she took time away from the story to me. To paraphrase Jimmy Dugan there are no women in the comic books. Another thing that work well to me is that this Batman is basically a man doing believable things(well the train thing was not) mostly. I finally can say yeah that here is a real superhero that just maybe could be for real.
