Ah, the good old days. I remember this TV show when I was a kid. Ed, Edd n Eddy was one of the best shows I've ever seen. But since I've been so busy with working at school, being with families and playing video games, I was only able to watch five or six episodes from Seasons 1, 2 and 4. But now that I've graduated, I can watch all of the episodes from every season on streaming, DVD or online, and they were ED-TASTIC! (That's a combination of the words "Ed" and "Fantastic" for those of you who didn't understand the headline.
I like it when the characters' outlines were always wiggling. I also like it when their eyes have irises around their pupils whenever they get scared, angry, or excited. I don't know why, but this show always reminded me of Charlie Brown. I think it's because this series focuses on the children, not the adults (However, you do get to only see the grown ups' arms and silhouettes throughout the series.). However, there are some animals on this show, but mostly Rolf's farm animals. I'm also kind of bummed that they didn't show any Cats, because I'm a Cat person. However, they DID show ONE Dog, but I don't think it was enough.
My favorite characters on the whole show are all of the Eds, Kevin, Rolf and Jimmy. Ed is a funny, lovable idiot. He may have the IQ of an Ant, but he is super strong. Edd (Double D) is great too. He is really smart, but my favorite thing about him is when he gets afraid of germs and anything gross and unsanitary. Eddy is funny, but he can be from a bit selfish to SUPER selfish. I like it when he tries to scam the Kids, but ALMOST always fail to do so. There are some scams that Eddy is successful. Kevin can be mean to the Eds, but sometimes they (Especially Eddy) deserve to be pounded. Rolf may be a little weird, when he was from another old country, but I love it when he calls the Eds "Ed-boys". And last, but not least, we have the accident prone, Jimmy. He can be a coward when it comes to the outside world, which I wouldn't be surprised, especially with all of the Eds running around in it. I'm telling you, Jimmy's teeth will NEVER be straight, he may have to wear that poor retainer for the rest of his life.
My least favorite characters would be Sarah and the Kanker Sisters, obviously. Sarah is downright mean to almost everyone in the Cul-de-sac, especially the Eds. I think she maybe even worse than Kevin. In fact, the only person she's really nice to is Jimmy. The Kanker Sisters are my most hatred characters in the whole show. May is considered to be really stupid and the youngest of the sisters. She is in love with Ed. Marie is smart, yet sneaky, middle-child of the sisters. She's in love with Edd (Double D). And Lee is the oldest and leader of the sisters. She's in love with Eddy. I hate it when the Kanker Sisters kiss the Eds, leaving Red lipstick kiss stains all over their faces. But at least the Eds and Kankers didn't get married... yet. Let's just hope it stays that way.
I almost have every single episode on iTunes (Including the movie and series finale, "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show".). However, Season 6 and the holiday specials are not available on iTunes nor DVD. Fortunately, the Season 6 episodes ARE available on HBO Max, but I wish the Specials (Not counting the Cartoon Network Invaded special "The Eds Are Coming, the Eds Are Coming") are available to stream and/or on home video. I don't care what streaming app they're on, as long as the holiday specials are available. In fact, the only holiday special I managed to get was "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Jingle Jingle Jangle", which is only available on DVD. I just wish the ENTIRE series is available on DVD. So far, they've only released the first TWO complete seasons on DVD.
SPOILER ALERT!
My favorite episodes would be Who, What, Where Ed!, Know It All Ed, Key to My Ed, Once Upon an Ed, My Fair Ed, O-Ed Eleven, Brother Can You Spare an Ed, An Ed is Born, A Twist of Ed, A Case of Ed, Run for Your Ed, Out with the Old... in with the Ed, Mission Ed-Possible, This Won't Hurt an Ed, A Town Called Ed, May I Have this Ed? And Look Before You Ed.
Since I have a lot of favorite episodes, I'm only gonna talk about two.
"Who, What, Where Ed!" is a funny one, because the Eds have to find an item to trade for the other until they have to trade for an Egg that Rolf has. But every time the Eds try to get something, a kid wants to trade something that the other kid has. "A Twist of Ed" is a really good revenge episode. After the Kanker Sisters kissed each of their respective crush, Double D gets an idea by using reverse-psychology on the lusty girls, so they'll leave the Eds alone. That serves as revenge for the Kanker Sisters romantically harassing the Eds... until the girls decide to turn the tables.
SPOILERS END HERE.
I just want to say, Thank you, Danny Antonucci for giving us Ed, Edd n Eddy. And I hope that Cartoon Network can continue to give us all these wonderful TV shows like this one.
